Top 25 Illinois high school boys basketball rankings (2/12/2024)
Defending Class 3A champion Metamora moves up to No. 4 and Glenbrook South joins the top 25 this week.

1. Homewood-Flossmoor (26-3)
Previous rank: 1
The Vikings beat Lockport 80-59 and knocked off Hillcrest 71-52. Bryce Heard (15 points, 11 rebounds) and Carson Brownfield (11 points, 10 rebounds, five assists) both had double-doubles vs. Hillcrest.
2. Curie (27-2)
Previous rank: 2
The Condors won their first Public League title since 2019, beating Kenwood 65-59 as Carlos Harris III had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Curie also defeated Young 65-55 in the quarterfinals and downed Simeon 75-51 in the semifinals.
3. Thornton (24-4)
Previous rank: 3
Illinois recruit Morez Johnson had 23 points and 17 rebounds, but the Wildcats fell 61-59 to Warren Lincoln (Mich.). He had another double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds with four blocks and four steals in a 71-45 victory against Thornwood.
4. Metamora (25-4)
Previous rank: 5
The Redbirds extended their winning streak to 12 games by beating Washington 36-26 and East Peoria 60-50. They've also won 22 of 23, with their only loss in that stretch by one point to Thornton in early January.
5. DePaul Prep (26-2)
Previous rank: 7
The Rams' winning streak was at eight after victories over De La Salle (43-40) and Fenwick (51-31). Makai Kvamme had 13 points, five rebounds and three steals vs. De La Salle. Jaylan McElroy scored 16 against Fenwick and PJ Chambers added 15.
6. Brother Rice (26-3)

Zavier Fitch had a double-double of 23 points and 17 rebounds as the Crusaders won their eighth in a row, 86-42 against Verona (Wis.). He had another double-double (19 points, 10 rebounds) in a 69-59 win against Mount Carmel. Marcos Gonzales scored 22 in an 82-52 win vs. St. Laurence 82-52 and 20 against Mount Carmel.
7. Mount Carmel (26-4)

The Caravan split a pair of Catholic League games, beating Leo 63-41 in a crossover and falling 69-59 to Brother Rice in Blue action. Noah Mister and Angelo Ciaravino each scored 17 vs. Rice.
8. Kenwood (22-7)
Previous rank: 6
The Broncos' 10-game winning streak was snapped with a 65-59 loss to Curie in the Public League title game. Aleks Alston led Kenwood with 18 points and freshman Devin Cleveland scored 12 off the bench (all on 3-pointers). The Broncos beat Lincoln Park 74-61 in the quarterfinals and Phillips 71-62 in the semifinals.
9. Bolingbrook (22-4)

The Raiders knocked off Lincoln-Way East 68-49 and Lockport 69-54.
10. Benet Academy (23-5)
Previous rank: 11
The Redwings bounced back from a brief two-game losing streak. They rolled by St. Viator 60-28, beat Lake Forest 55-49 and avenged an earlier loss by knocking off Marian Catholic 52-45.
11. Quincy (24-2)
Previous rank: 8
Moline avenged an earlier loss and snapped the Blue Devils' five-game winning streak, prevailing 42-41. Quincy also coasted past Rock Island Alleman 78-33 and rolled by Jacksonville 71-44.
12. Warren Township (26-4)
Previous rank: 13
The Blue Devils beat Lake Forest 57-39 to pull into a tie for the North Suburban lead with the Scouts, and they also cruised by Zion-Benton 77-40.
13. Downers Grove North (25-4)
Previous rank: 14
The Trojans pushed their winning streak to eight games and wrapped up the West Suburban Silver title with three league victories: 44-32 and 50-28 vs. Glenbard West and 44-38 against York.
14. Marist (25-4)
Previous rank: 15
The RedHawks are tied with Benet for the East Suburban Catholic lead after wins against Carmel (50-45), Joliet Catholic (62-43) and Nazareth (66-60). They've won nine in a row.
15. Waubonsie Valley (24-2)
Previous rank: 12
The Warriors suffered their first DuPage Valley loss of the season, 61-56 to district rival Neuqua Valley, before bouncing back with a 61-40 victory against The Prairie School (Wis.).
16. Normal (25-5)
Previous rank: 16
The Ironmen beat Pekin 53-34 and Moline 31-29.
17. Kankakee (23-3)
Previous rank: 17
Larenz Walters scored 33 points as the Kays beat Thornwood 73-63 and he had 22 points in a 72-57 victory vs. Crete-Monee. Lincoln Williams had a double-double (20 points, 12 rebounds) against Crete. Kankakee also coasted past Mahomet-Seymour 70-32.
18. Marian Catholic (19-9)
Previous rank: 18
The Spartans avenged an earlier loss by beating Niles Notre Dame 50-43 and fell 52-45 to Benet.
19. Glenbrook South (23-6)
Previous rank: NR
The Titans picked up a pair of big Central Suburban South wins – 67-55 vs. New Trier and 48-39 over Evanston – and also knocked off Carmel 67-50.
20. New Trier (23-7)
Previous rank: 20
The Trevians split a pair of Central Suburban South games, losing 67-55 to Glenbrook South and beating Glenbrook North 67-34.
21. Loyola Academy (24-6)
Previous rank: 21
The Ramblers split a pair of Catholic Blue games, rolling by St. Rita 54-21 and losing 41-39 to De La Salle.
22. Collinsville (26-3)
Previous rank: 22
The Kahoks have won five straight after beating O'Fallon 58-48 and Glenwood 55-32.
23. Rich Township (21-7)
Previous rank: 23
The Raptors beat Oak Forest 97-64, Thornridge 87-45 and Bloom 52-40 to extend their winning streak to six games.
24. Bloom (15-9)
Previous rank: 24
The Blazing Trojans split a pair of Southland games, beating Crete-Monee 55-42 and losing 52-40 to Rich. Santana Flowers (13 points, 16 rebounds) and Elijah Lovemore (10 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds, five steals) had double-doubles vs. Crete.
25. Centralia (27-2)

The Orphans coasted by Carbondale 58-35 and Taylorville 83-24 to extend their winning streak to six games.
