21 Illinois wrestlers ranked in latest national rankings

Illinois individual wrestling championships held this week

The Illinois individual state wrestling championships are Thursday through Saturday at the State Farm Center in Champaign and we are taking a quick look at the nationally-ranked wrestlers to watch.  

The state of Illinois has been well represented since the SBLive Sports national wrestling rankings were started a year ago and the most recent edition of the rankings is no different. 

In the most recent rankings there were 21 Illinois wrestlers who were ranked among the top 25 nationally in their respective weight classes and another four wrestlers who earned honorable mention status in their weight classes. 

So on the eve of the 2024 Illinois individual wrestling championships we are taking a quick look at those 25 wrestlers.
