Top 25 Illinois high school boys basketball rankings (2/26/2024)
The start of the IHSA postseason went mostly according to form, leading to a quiet week for the rankings.
Glenbrook North and Marian Catholic are back in the top 25.

1. Curie (29-2)

The top-seeded Condors won the Class 4A Lyons Regional, beating Juarez 96-28 and the host Lions 55-46. Will Gonzalez scored 24 points and Taevion Collier had a double-double (14 points, 13 rebounds) vs. Lyons.
2. Homewood-Flossmoor (28-4)

The Vikings beat Lockport 82-45 and the host Chargers 64-56 to win the 4A Stagg Regional. Bryce Heard (23 points, 7 rebounds) and Carson Brownfield (20 points, 6 rebounds) led the way vs. Stagg.
3. Thornton (27-4)
Previous rank: 3
Illinois recruit Morez Johnson had another double-double (11 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks) in a 60-35 3A regional final win over Crete-Monee at TF North. The Wildcats also beat Bremen 77-28.
4. Metamora (29-4)
Previous rank: 4
The defending Class 3A champion Redbirds are 16-0 since losing to Thornton on Jan. 6. They beat Galesburg 81-33 and Peoria Central 69-33 to win the Geneseo Regional.
5. DePaul Prep (30-2)
Previous rank: 5
The Rams won the 3A Carmel Regional, cruising past Grayslake North 42-15 and the host Corsairs 46-32. PJ Chambers scored 19 in the Carmel win.
6. Brother Rice (30-3)
Previous rank: 6
The Crusaders won their own 3A regional, beating Tinley Park 67-39 and Perspectives-Leadership 59-48.
7. Bolingbrook (26-4)
Previous rank: 7
The Raiders extended their winning streak to eight games by beating East Aurora 78-40 and West Aurora 54-48 to win the 4A Yorkville Regional. JT Pettigrew had 14 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks against West Aurora, and Brandon Lawani (10 points, 10 rebounds) also had a double-double.
8. Kenwood (24-7)

It was a tumultuous week for the Broncos, who had head coach Mike Irvin, two assistants and four players suspended by the IHSA for residency rules violations. They still won their own regional, beating Berwyn-Cicero Morton 81-35 and Oak Lawn 60-54. Freshman Devin Cleveland scored 18 vs. Oak Lawn.
9. Mount Carmel (28-5)

The Caravan won their own 3A regional, beating Solorio 62-8 and Bogan 82-58. Cam Thomas scored 28 in the Bogan win.
10. Benet (27-6)
Previous rank: 10
The Redwings won the 4A Oswego East Regional, defeating Plainfield East 65-48 and edging the hosts 57-54 as Jayden Wright scored 21.
11. Quincy (30-3)
Previous rank: 11
The Blue Devils edged Alton 48-47 and beat O'Fallon 48-42 to win the 4A Edwardsville Regional.
12. Warren (29-4)
Previous rank: 12
The Blue Devils have won nine in a row after beating Zion-Benton 75-46 and Waukegan 67-55 to capture their own 4A regional title. Freshman Jaxson Davis scored 25 vs. Waukegan.
13. Downers Grove North (29-4)
Previous rank: 13
The Trojans' win streak is at 12 after they beat Naperville Central 64-29 and Neuqua Valley 54-39 to take their own 4A regional.
14. Marist (29-4)
Previous rank: 14
The RedHawks are on a 13-game winning streak after taking the 4A Regional with victories against the host Thunderbirds (78-58) and Joliet Central (66-51). Marquis Vance's double-double (23 points, 14 rebounds) led the way vs. Joliet Central.
15. Waubonsie Valley (27-2)

The Warriors knocked off Plainfield Central 59-30 and Plainfield North 48-34 to win the 4A Metea Valley Regional.
16. Normal (28-5)
Previous rank: 16
The Ironmen won their own 4A regional, beating Minooka 53-32 and Rock Island 62-46.
17. Glenbrook South (26-6)
Previous rank: 18
The Titans have won six in a row after beating Highland Park 54-33 and Maine South 67-40 in their own 4A regional.
18. New Trier (26-7)
Previous rank: 19
The Trevians won the 4A Oak Park-River Forest Regional, beating Taft 72-48 and downing the host Huskies 66-51 behind Chris Kirkpatrick's 22 points.
19. Loyola Academy (27-6)
Previous rank: 20
The Ramblers beat Mather 59-21 and Niles West 54-32 to win the 4A Maine East Regional.
20. Kankakee (27-4)
Previous rank: 21
The Kays won the 3A Streator Regional with victories against Morris (57-31) and Pontiac (62-47). Lincoln Williams had a double-double (10 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks) vs. Pontiac.
21. Bloom (18-9)
Previous rank: 23
Elijah Lovemore had his fifth triple-double of the season (10 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds, 5 steals) as the Blazing Trojans beat the host Thunderbolts 62-39 to win the 4A Andrew Regional. He also had 13 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in a 59-28 victory over Lincoln-Way Central 59-28.

The Spartans beat Maine West 58-25 and the host Champions 51-45 to win the 4A Lane Regional.

The Meteors won the 3A Nazareth Regional, knocking off St. Rita 73-31 and Hinsdale South 46-39. Richard Lindsey scored 19 against Hinsdale South.
24. Marian Catholic (22-10)

The Spartans won their own 3A regional, knocking off Brooks 69-31 and Lemont 57-38.
25. Centralia (30-2)
Previous rank: 25
The Orphans' winning streak is at nine after winning the 3A Marion Regional with victories against Carbondale (50-35) and the host Wildcats (42-35).
