Here are the candidates for SBLive's Illinois High School Athlete of the Week as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff.

Angelo Ciaravino, Mount Carmel boys basketball

The Northwestern recruit had 34 points and eight rebounds as the Caravan beat De La Salle 73-57 to win the Class 3A Hinsdale South Sectional.

Jaxon Davis, Warren boys basketball

The freshman had 39 points as the Blue Devils defeated DeKalb 70-57 and McHenry 70-38 to win the Class 4A Rockford Guilford Sectional.

Amari Edwards, Phillips boys basketball

The junior had 32 points, nine rebounds and six steals as the Wildcats beat Hansberry 90-71 to win the Class 2A Corliss Sectional.

Paige Engels, Loyola girls basketball

The Cornell recruit scored a game-high 17 points as the Ramblers edged Nazareth 44-40 to win the IHSA Class 4A title and finish 38-0. She also scored 17 in a 43-40 semifinal win against Fremd.

Kloe Froebe, Lincoln girls basketball

The Colorado State recruit scored 36 points as the Railsplitters completed a 38-0 season with a 60-44 win over Glenwood in the IHSA Class 3A state final. She also had 27 points and nine rebounds in a 58-41 semifinal win against Montini.

Marcos Gonzales, Brother Rice boys basketball

The junior scored 21 points in a 71-56 win against Marian Catholic and 17 points in a 61-54 loss to the hosts at the Class 3A Thornton Sectional.

Will Gonzalez, Curie boys basketball

The senior had 26 points in two games as the Condors knocked off Young 61-49 and Simeon 66-59 to win the Class 4A Riverside-Brookfield Sectional.

Mac Hagemaster, Homewood-Flossmoor boys basketball

The senior had a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds with five blocks in a 68-66 overtime win against Joliet West in a Class 4A Rich Sectional semifinal.

Carlos Harris III, Curie boys basketball

The UIC recruit scored 47 points as the Condors beat Young 61-49 and Simeon 66-59 to win the Class 4A Riverside-Brookfield Sectional.

Bryce Heard, Homewood-Flossmoor boys basketball

The four-star junior prospect had 21 points and eight rebounds in a 68-66 overtime win against Joliet West and scored 19 in a 61-50 victory over Bloom as the Vikings won the Class 4A Rich Sectional.

EJ Horton, Phillips boys basketball

The junior passed 1,000 career points, finishing with 26 points, seven rebounds and six steals in a 90-71 victory against Hansberry in the Class 2A Corliss Sectional final.

Morez Johnson, Thornton boys basketball

The Illinois recruit had 17 points and seven rebounds in a 61-54 win against Brother Rice. He also put up a double-double of 21 points and 17 rebounds as the Wildcats rolled by Evergreen Park 77-47 to win their own Class 3A sectional.

Christopher Kirkpatrick, New Trier boys basketball

The sophomore scored his team's last 10 points, including the decisive 3-pointer, as the Trevians beat Glenbrook North 46-43 to win the Class 4A Maine South Sectional.

Alayna Kraus, Okawville girls basketball

The senior scored 33 points as the Rockets beat Illini Bluffs 48-36 to repeat as IHSA Class 1A champs. She also had 25 points and 10 rebounds in a 44-30 semifinal win against Peru St. Bede.

Antonio Mack, Mascoutah boys indoor track

The senior ran a state season-best 8.23 to win the 60-meter high hurdles at the Jacksonville Indoor Invitational.

Jayon Morrow, Kankakee boys indoor track

The senior won the 300 meters (35.01) and 400 (49.03, No. 2 in Illinois this season) at the Cabin Fever Invitational.

Supreme Muhammad, Winnebago boys indoor track

The senior ran the state's fastest time in the 200 meters this season, a 21.89, to win the Cabin Fever Invitational.

Lathan Sommerville, Peoria Richwoods boys basketball

The Rutgers recruit had 30 points in a 70-66 win against Kankakee and scored 22 in a 61-55 victory against defending Class 3A champ Metamora as the Knights won the Class 3A Pontiac Sectional.

Cam Thomas, Mount Carmel boys basketball

The junior had 23 points and six rebounds in a 73-57 win against De La Salle in the Class 3A Hinsdale South Sectional final.

Emy Wardle, Peoria Notre Dame girls basketball

The freshman scored 18 points, including the decisive basket, in a 48-46 win against Nashville in the IHSA Class 2A state final.
