Jaheem Webber leads Normal past Palatine in Illinois Class 4A boys basketball semifinals
CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS – Jaheem Webber did a little bit of everything for the Normal Community basketball team on Friday.
The 6-foot-10 senior center made an impact on both ends of the floor as the Ironmen defeated Palatine 58-38 in the Illinois Class 4A semifinal at State Farm Center.
Webber, who is headed to Wright State next year, stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 12 rebounds, six blocked shots and three assists.
Braylon Roman, a 6-4 senior guard, scored a team-high 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including three 3-pointers. Noah Cleveland, a 6-8 senior forward, added eight points and nine rebounds.
Normal Community advances to face either Homewood-Flossmoor (31-4) or New Trier (29-7) in the 4A championship game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Connor May led Palatine (28-9) with a team-high 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Tommy Elter added 10 points.
Tied 13-13 after one quarter, the Ironmen outscored the Pirates in each of the final three quarters to pull away for the victory.
Normal outscored Palatine 14-9 in the second quarter, 19-8 in the third and 12-8 in the fourth.
