The Class 6A semistates lived up to the hype, with Ben Davis edging three-time defending state champ Center Grove in overtime and unbeaten Crown Point getting past Westfield in double overtime.

1. Ben Davis (12-1)

Previous rank: 1 Last week: Def. Center Grove 37-34 in OT in Class 6A semistate

Miami (Ohio) commit Thomas Gotkowski accounted for four touchdowns – three passing and one running – and threw for 211 yards in the win. Nate Williams caught the game-winning TD from 10 yards out to end the instant classic.

2. Center Grove (11-2)

Tyler Cherry, a Duke commit, threw for 405 yards and four TDs in the loss.

3. Crown Point (13-0)

Previous rank: 3 Last week: Def. Westfield 38-31 in 2 OT in Class 6A semistate

Two more big games for juniors Noah Ehrlich and Larry Ellison helped the Bulldogs stay perfect. Ehrlich established program single-season records for completions (150), passing yards (2,236) and TD passes (27), while Ellison carried 37 times for 165 yards.

4. Westfield (11-2)

The Shamrocks trailed 17-0 late in the third quarter before rallying behind a pair of Kendall Garnett touchdowns to force overtime. But Crown Point's defense forced an incompletion on fourth down in the second OT to prevail.

The Hawks won their ninth in a row as senior Halbert Aguirre ran for a TD and had a productive night on defense.
