The South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies (27-3) defeated the Indianapolis Crispus Attucks Tigers (22-7) 56-52 in the 2025 Indiana (IHSAA) high school boys basketball Class 3A state championship on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Huskies' strong second quarter gave them a six-point lead at halftime, and that lead held until Crispus Attucks made a run to tie the game with one minute, 14 seconds remaining.

Saint Joseph's Chase Konieczny then grabbed a rebound over Crispus Attucks' Dezmon Briscoe and dunked it. Teammates Brashaun Woods and Nick Shrewsberry sealed the win with free throws.

Shrewsberry and Elijah King led the Huskies with 16 points. Konieczny had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Briscoe led Crispus Attucks with 17 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks. His five blocks tied a Class 3A championship game record.

FIRST QUARTER UPDATES

Saint Joseph wins the opening tip and we're underway.

Five minutes remain in the first quarter, and Crispus Attucks has a 5-3 lead. Dezmon Briscoe has three rebounds in the opening minutes.

Nick Shrewsberry with five points early for Saint Joseph. The Huskies have an 11-9 lead with two minutes remaining.

Saint Jo's is pushing the pace early. The Huskies are flying up and down the court.

END OF FIRST QUARTER: Saint Joseph 13, Crispus Attucks 13

Shrewsberry with five points to lead all scorers. Briscoe has four points, four rebounds and four blocks through one quarter.

SECOND QUARTER UPDATES

The second quarter is underway.

Crispus Attucks with four turnovers so far, and Saint Joseph's has four points off those turnovers. Crispus Attucks leads 18-17 with 4:53 remaining.

Saint Joseph's continues to struggle shooting the ball. The Huskies are 8-of-24 from the field and 0-for-8 from 3-point range.

The Huskies go on a 7-0 run to take a 24-18 lead with 3:44 remaining. Elijah King with seven points in the second quarter for the Huskies.

HALFTIME: Saint Joseph 28, Crispus Attucks 24

The Huskies had a strong second quarter to take a lead into halftime. they continue to force turnovers and win the rebounding battle.

King has 11 points for the Huskies. Briscoe has seven points, five rebounds and four blocks.

THIRD QUARTER UPDATES

The third quarter is underway.

Saint Joseph with a good start to the quarter. The Huskies lead 37-28 with 3:56 remaining in the quarter.

Briscoe ties the Class 3A record for blocks in the championship game with five. The Huskies lead 39-31 with 2:20 remaining.

One minute remains, and Chase Konieczny has four points, three rebounds and two assists in the third quarter with one minute remaining, and the Saint Joseph leads 41-33.

END OF THIRD QUARTER: Saint Joseph 41, Crispus Attucks 35

FOURTH QUARTER UPDATES

The fourth quarter is underway.

Crispus Attucks with a run to cut the Huskies' lead to 41-39 with seven minutes remaining in the game. Briscoe up to 14 points.

Crispus Attucks in a scoring drought. Saint Joseph leads 47-41 with four minutes remaining.

Crispus Attucks Chris Hurt hits a 3-point shot. Saint Joseph leads 50-45 with 2:44 remaining.

Kayden English with a layup to cut the Huskies lead to three points with two minutes remaining.

Briscoe gets fouled and hits one free throw as Saint Joseph leads 50-48 with 1:41 remaining. Crispus Attucks is on a 7-0 run.

English makes two free throws to tie the game with 1:14 remaining.

Konieczny dunks a rebound over Briscoe for a 52-50 lead with 53 seconds remaining.

Brashaun Woods hits two free throws for Saint Joseph for a 4-point lead. English made a layup for Crispus Attucks with 14 seconds remaining.

Shrewsberry hits two free throws, and Saint Joseph will win the game.
