Vote: Who is the top pure scorer in Kentucky boys basketball this season?

We have eight candidates for you to choose from

When you begin talking about the state of Kentucky, you immediately start thinking about the game of basketball.

The Bluegrass State is well known for its devoted love for the hardwood and that's not just for college basketball programs Kentucky and Louisville. That seeps down into the high school basketball level.

There's plenty of great high school basketball players on the high school circuit, including some of the top scorers in the country. We here at SBLive Sports went ahead and selected eight players that have really stood-out in the scoring department.

We let you the fans step in and decide: Who is the top pure scorer of the 2023-24 Kentucky boys basketball season so far? Voting ends January 21st at 11:59 p.m.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here’s the nominations:

Travis Perry, PG, Lyon County: The Kentucky commitment has not let anyone down with his scoring prowess this season. Perry is averaging a state-leading 30.1 points per game for the Lyons. Not many in the country can score like Perry can when he gets out from the perimeter.

Malachi Moreno, C, Great Crossing: One of the most heavily recruited players out of the Bluegrass State for the 2025 class and Moreno has no trouble getting to the rim. An example of what the 7-foot-1 center can do came against Bishop O'Connell when he scored 24 points, collected 25 rebounds and added two assists, two blocks.

Jamison Glass, C, Todd County: One of the top centers in the entire state, the 6-foot-7 Glass has been a scoring machine. Glass is averaging 28.1 points per game and adding 9.6 boards a night.

Ty Price, PG, Butler County: First went viral on the basketball circuit with his handles back in 2019, now the point guard is known for his scoring on a nightly basis. Price is averaging 27.3 points per game through 11 contests.

Jason Leek, PG, Heritage Christian Academy: From winning a state championship last season to also being named state tournament Most Valuable Player, Leek really did it all last season. The point guard has kept it up this winter, averaging a cool 24.8 points a contest through eight games.

Jaylin Craine, G, Caverna: Just coming off getting an official offer from Jacksonville State, you can see why colleges are after the combo guard. Craine’s ability to score the basketball is one, with the sophomore averaging 22.3 points, 6.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds a night.

Trent Noah, G, Harlan County: You better believe Noah, a South Carolina commitment, can find a way to score on a nightly basis. The senior guard’s last three outings he’s averaging 28.3 points a game.

Kade Unseld, SF, Warren Central: The Western Kentucky commitment has no trouble getting to the rim or connecting from the perimeter. The 6-foot-5 forward has scored over 20 points in several games this season.
