Quitman basketball player Cali Deal is the Louisiana High School Athlete of the Week (Jan. 30-Feb. 5)

Deal has a couple of high-scoring games, including a career-high total

Cali Deal had a huge week, for her and for her Quitman girls basketball team. 

Deal, a sophomore post for the Lady Wolverines, led her team in scoring in a couple of wins. On Jan. 31, she had 23 points as Quitman posted a 66-24 win against Doyline.

She was just getting started. A few nights later, on Feb. 3, Deal had a career-high 31 points in a 66-58 Quitman win against Castor. She even recorded a double-double of 11 rebounds, and she was 17-of-21 from the free throw line. 

For her efforts, Deal was voted the SBLive Louisiana Athlete of the Week covering Jan. 30-Feb. 5.
