Nola Sevin, Mount Carmel volleyball
Sevin recorded her 2,000th career dig last week and helped the Division I second-ranked Cubs to a five-set win over No. 1 Dominican on Oct. 11.
Chad Elzy, Ascension Catholic football
Elzy continued to run wild, totaling 313 yards on eight carries with six TDs in a 65-0 win over East Iberville. Elzy is near the top of the race for statewide leading rusher with 98 carries for 1,471 yards and 23 TDs. He is averaging 15 yards per carry with back-to-back 300-plus yard outings.
Joshua Thomas, Slaughter Community Charter football
Thomas caught five passes for 294 yards and three TDs in the Knights' 66-22 win vs. Central Private. The Knights are 5-2 overall, 1-0 in District 9-1A.
Drew Bailey, Sam Houston football
The Broncos improved to 6-1 with a 34-21 district win at Lafayette High. Bailey rushed for 267 yards on 21 carries with a pair of touchdowns.
Xavier Ford, Leesville football
The junior tailback rushed for 231 yards on 26 carries with TD runs of 4 and 51 yards - and tacked on a two-point conversion - as the Wampus Cats stayed undefeated in District 3-4A with a 28-22 win over Hwy. 171 rival DeRidder.
ReJohn Zeno, Jennings football
The junior tailback scored on runs of 71, 17 and 42 yards to boost the Bulldogs to a 35-7 defeat of South Beauregard. Zeno finished the night with 163 yards on 12 carries.
Lane Willis, Rosepine football
Willis carried twice for 49 yards with a 34-yard scoring run - and added a pair of two-point conversions - in a 50-0 win over Pickering.
Jonavon Begnaud, Welsh football
The quarterback sparked the Greyhounds to a 22-0 shutout of DeQuincy, leading the team in rushing (11-87) and completing 6-of-11 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Ian Vigo, Grand Lake football
Vigo scored the opening touchdown in his team's 28-0 district win vs. Lake Arthur, and totaled 101 yards rushing on 29 carries.
Treylen Ceaser, Elton football
Ceaser ran for a 21-yard touchdown for the game's first points in a 30-14 win over East Beauregard,. He caught a pair of two-point conversion passes and hauled in a 24-yard reception from quarterback Devin Simon.
Chris Helaire, Lafayette Christian football
The defensive back set a school record with three interceptions in a 62-3 District 4-4A win over Teurlings Catholic. He returned one interception for a score.
Jaden Reese, Church Point football
The Bears knocked off Northwest to remain perfect in district. Reese completed 3-of-4 passes for 131 yards and two TDs and rushed for a team-high 47 yards on 11 carries.
Dominik Smith, Pope John Paul II football
The Jaguars improved to 5-2 and stayed unbeaten in District 7-2A with a 30-29 win over Northlake Christian. Smith rushed for 194 yards on 25 carries with two TDs.
Cameron Dorsey, Salmen football
The Spartans picked up their third straight win, a 45-14 District 8-4A victory at Archbishop Hannan. Dorsey was 16-of-19 through the air for 261 yards and three TDs covering 58, 69 and 9 yards.
Addie Lee, Central-Baton Rouge volleyball
Lee had 14 kills, six digs, three blocks and an ace to lead her team to a three-set sweep of Woodlawn-Baton Rouge in the Division I, District 6 opener.
Tripp Roemer, Loyola College Prep boys cross country
Roemer placed first in the boys division at the WK Palmetto Cross Country Classic in Benton with a time of 17:03.
Emma Bielkiewicz, West Ouachita girls cross country
Bielkiewicz won the girls division of the WK Palmetto Cross Country Classic in Benton with a time of 20:11.
Markel Mallet, Port Barre football
Mallet ran for 122 yards on 13 attempts with a touchdown in the Red Devils' 26-8 district win vs. Ville Platte. He also caught two passes for 20 yards.
Edmar Simon, Abbeville football
The Wildcats pounded Crowley, 60-13, in a District 5-3A contest. Simon rushed for 56 yards and three TDs on six carries.
Jed Devoltz, Kaplan football
In his first full game back from an injury, Devoltz ran for 144 yards on 27 carries with a TD in a 16-13 win vs. Erath.
Jonathan Dartez, Vermilion Catholic football
The junior quarterback rushed for 80 yards on 12 carries with two TDs and completed 8-of-10 passes for 185 yards and two TDs as the undefeated Eagles won, 42-8, at Jeanerette.
Kylin Wheeler, Rayne football
The junior caught five passes for 185 yards, with four going for touchdowns, in a 54-6 District 3-4A win vs. LaGrange. Eleven of his 28 catches this season have been for TDs.
Justin Chatman, Covington football
Chatman carried 22 times for 160 yards with two TDs in the Lions' 20-19 District 6-5A win over Hammond.
Trevel Watts, Slidell football
The senior tailback ran for 101 yards and a TD on 19 carries in an 18-14 win over Ponchatoula.
Tray Morris, North Caddo football
Morris sparked the Titans to a 42-24 win over Lakeside with 218 yards on 11 carries and two TDs. He added eight tackles on defense.
Marcel Willis, Huntington football
The Raiders ran their record to 5-2 with a 44-0 drubbing of Woodlawn-Shreveport. Willis carried 12 times for 117 yards and a TD.
Barry Remo, Catholic-Baton Rouge football
Remo had 20 carries for 241 yards and three TDs as the Bears rallied from a 10-point deficit to get past Central-Baton Rouge, 42-38.
Ethan Aucoin, Dutchtown football
Aucoin was 15-of-21 passing for 152 yards and a TD and ran for 113 yards on 12 carries in the Griffins' 35-16 win at Live Oak. Dutchtown is 5-1 overall, 1-1 in District 5-5A.
Cooper Scott, Holy Savior Menard football
Scott collected 18 tackles with two sacks and accumulated 64 yards on offense in the Eagles' 13-6 win vs. Avoyelles Parish.
Ruffin George, Oakdale football
George rushed for 162 yards on 15 carries with two TDs in the Warriors' 47-6 win over Mamou.
Trammell Colvin, Sterlington football
Colvin rushed for 126 yards on 14 carries with a TD in the Panthers' 24-10 win over Union Parish.
Amyne Darensbourg, John F. Kennedy football
The quarterback completed 11-of-17 passes for 225 yards and four TDs in a 64-0 win vs. Livingston Collegiate Academy. The Cougars are 6-1 with their only loss coming to undefeated St. Amant.
Ty Powell, E.D. White football
The Cardinals stayed perfect with a 7-0 record by downing Donaldsonville, 44-6. Powell was 5/5 on PATs with eight touchbacks and a 43-yard field goal.
Kolaj Cobbins, Destrehan football
The Wildcats moved to 7-0 on the year with a 38-7 defeat of Terrebonne. Cobbins, an LSU commit, recorded 14 tackles, three tackles for loss, broke up a pass and returned an interception 28 yards for a touchdown.
Evan Picou, Central Catholic football
The Eagles beat Berwick, 21-6, in a non-district game. Picou was a defensive force, registering 10 tackles, two tackles for loss, two pass deflections and two hurries.
Abram Wardell, Calvary Baptist football
The junior completed 20-of-23 passes for 285 yards and six TDs - all coming in the first half - as the high-flying Cavaliers improved to 7-0 after a 58-6 win against Green Oaks.
