Louisiana girls basketball 'Marsh Madness': Live updates, scores from Day 3 of the tournament (2/28/2024)
HAMMOND, LOUISIANA - It is Day 3 of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association's "Marsh Madness" state girls basketball tournament.
Four games are on tap on Wednesday, and SBLive Louisiana will be chronicling the action that takes place at the University Center on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University.

AMITE 52, DOYLE 44 (FINAL)
- Amite shot 60 percent from the field in the first quarter (9-of-15) in building a 19-7 advantage. The Lady Warriors ended up making 47.7 percent of their field goals (21-of-44) while holding Doyle to 32.1 percent (17-of-53).
- Doyle had two players in double figures. Kylee Savant scored 17 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers, and Suri Stewart added 11 points.
- Amite's Hai'ley Brumfield and Miracle Irving combined to score 41 points. Brumfield had 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting with five assists, two steals and a block. Irving added 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting with four 3-pointers as well as making both of her free-throw attempts.
- Amite holds off Doyle to win the Division III non-select semifinal, and will face defending champion Rosepine on Saturday for the championship.
- Amite took a 31-24 lead at halftime and then went up by nine, 43-34, after three quarters.
- The final game of the night pits Amite against Doyle in the Division III non-select semifinals, with the winner moving on to face Rosepine on Saturday for the title.
WOSSMAN 51, ALBANY 36 (FINAL)
- Ava Shields was the top scorer for Albany with 13 points.
- In Wossman's win, Brittany Burton led all scorers with 15 points on 7-of-16 shooting. Anyra Wilson had 11 points and two 3's. In the third quarter, the Lady Wildcats shot 72.7 percent (8-for-11) while Albany was held to 11.1 percent from the field (1-for-9).
- Wossman is a win away from a state championship three-peat after defeating Albany in a rematch of last season's Division II non-select title game (Wossman, 51-36 | Final)
- Wossman now in total control as the Lady Wildcats have opened up a big lead going into the final quarter (Wossman, 43-20 | 8:00 4th)
- Wossman ended the opening half with eight straight points. Then, the Lady Wildcats started the second half with a 7-0 run and now lead Albany by 15 (Wossman, 30-15 | 6:21 3rd)

SOUTH BEAUREGARD 60, CHURCH POINT 39 (FINAL)
- Three were in double figures for the Lady Knights in South Beauregard's semifinal win. Kenzie Hudler had a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds - seven of those on the offensive glass. Kaelyn Gunter added 13 points and made two of the team's three 3's, and Emorie Fontenot had a double-double of her own with 12 points and 12 boards.
- Akirra Hagger scored 12 points with two 3's and Ery'ul Johnson added 11 points for Church Point in its semifinal defeat.
- South Beauregard is on its way to playing for the Division II non-select championship after defeating Church Point in the semifinals (South Beauregard, 60-39 | Final)
- Looks like South Beauregard is on its way to the win, as the Lady Knights hold a commanding lead late (South Beauregard, 56-37 | 1:20, 4th)
- Church Point made a couple of brief runs in the third, getting within nine a couple of times, but South Beauregard continues to maintain a sizable lead entering the final quarter (South Beauregard, 42-29 | 8:00, 4th)
- South Beauregard had very balanced scoring in the first half, as the top scorer, Kaelyn Gunter, had 7 points. Church Point's top scorer is Ery'ul Johnson with 5.

- Westlake had three players in double figures, led by 16 points from Madison Guillory. Gabrielle Guillory added 12 points and made three 3-pointers, and Tierra Bargeman finished with 11 points, and was the team's top rebounder with nine.
- Rosepine was led by Addison Fruge, who scored 22 points on 9-of-20 shooting. Kailea Blankenbaker added 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Kelly Norris grabbed 17 rebounds but finished two points shy of a triple-double, scoring 8 points. She also had 11 assists.
- Westlake hit a 3 with time running out, but Rosepine will march on with a chance to repeat as Division III state champions (Rosepine, 55-48 | Final)
- Rosepine getting several offensive boards late. The latest one came from Nevaeh Rivera, who was in position underneath the basket to stick the ball back in. Lady Eagles back up by double digits (Rosepine, 51-41 | 1:25, 4th)
