Here are the candidates for SBLive Sports Maryland High School Boys Basketball Player of the Week for March 5-10 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive's staff. Read through our notes on each nominee and then cast your vote in out poll.

Here are this week's nominees:
Deshaun Brown, Fort Hill: The senior guard had 20 points in Fort Hill’s come-from-behind win over Lake Clifton in the Class 1A state quarterfinals and 18 points and five assists in a 68-58 victory over Allegany in the West Region I final.
Evan Brown, Whitman: The junior guard finished with 17 points and five assists in Whitman’s 73-72 victory over Laurel in the Class 4A state quarterfinals, and 11 points and three assists in a 59-54 win over Bethesda-Chevy Chase in the West Region II championship game.
Shamarr Johnson, Northeast: Johnson posted 18 points and 15 rebounds in a 69-65 win over Patterson in the Class 3A state quarterfinals, and 16 points and 12 rebounds in a 71-52 victory over Mount Hebron in the South Region I final.
Ashton Meeks, DeMatha: The sophomore guard was selected Most Outstanding Player at the Maryland Private Schools State Tournament, totaling 53 points in the Stags’ final three matches, including 16 in a 74-68 double overtime win over Bullis in the championship game.
Jayden Saunders, Long Reach: The senior had 30 points in Long Reach’s 72-63 victory over Milford Mill in the Class 3A state quarterfinals, and 23 in a 73-64 win over River Hill in the South Region II final.
Shamir Taylor, St. Charles: The senior guard had 23 points, eight rebounds and six assists in St. Charles’ 63-60 win over Wootton in the Class 3A state quarterfinals, and 19 points, 8 rebounds and six steals in a 69-55 victory over Chopticon in the East Region II final.
Larry Thompson, C. Milton Wright: Thompson finished with 14 points as C. Milton Wright defeated Dunbar, 49-45, in the Class 2A state quarterfinals, and had 13 in a 58-52 win over Elkton in the East Region I title match.
Ja’Von Tyler, Smithsburg: Tyler scored 17 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter in Smithsburg’s 96-82 win over Loch Raven in the Class 1A state quarterfinals, and finished with 18 points in a 76-70 victory over South Carroll in the West Region II championship game.
Cam Ward, Largo: The junior forward finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds in Largo’s 61-55 victory over Gwynn Park in the Class 2A South Region I final, and had 20 points and 12 rebounds in a 79-57 state quarterfinal win over Thomas Stone.
Trybe Wise, Stephen Decatur: Wise, a junior forward, finished with 20 points in the Seahawks’ 63-43 victory over Linganore in the Class 3A state quarterfinals, and 17 in a 63-55 win over Severna Park in the East Region I final.
