Congratulations to St. Mary's softball pitcher Lily Newhall for being voted SBLive’s Massachusetts High School Athlete of the Week for May 30-June 5!
The senior threw a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a 12-0 win over Shawsheen Tech to advance to the Division 3 Sweet 16.

Nick Clark, Oliver Ames baseball: Clark tossed a one-hitter with 15 strikeouts in a 2-1 win over Amherst.
Matt Cassidy, Plymouth South baseball: Cassidy went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with four RBIs to lead Plymouth South to a D2 tournament opener win over Somerville.
Lucas Verrier, St. John’s Prep boys lacrosse: Verrier scored two goals and added two assists in a 9-5 win over Billerica.
Tristan Miller, Austin Prep boys track and field: Miller took second place and set a school record in the 400-meter run with a time of 49.14 at the MIAA Meet of Champions.
Jake Boudreau, Duxbury boys track and field: Boudreau took sixth place and medaled in the 800-meter run at the MIAA Meet of Champions with a time of 1:57.70.
Shakira Cadet, Durfee girls track and field: Cadet won the triple jump with a jump of 38'11.5" at the MIAA Meet of Champions. Her jump also set a new school record and the distance qualifies her to compete at nationals.
Sophie Young, Medfield girls lacrosse: The senior goalie had 15 saves against Cohasset to wrap up the regular season.
Caroline Peterson, Silver Lake softball: Peterson tossed a gem in the circle, striking out 13 in a 14-2 Round of 32 win over East Longmeadow.
Emma Abramson, Sandwich girls golf: Abramson shot a 75 to earn co-medalist honors at the MIAA South Sectional tournament.
