Matt Hasselbeck's son commits to UCLA; 3-star Massachusetts QB will play for Chip Kelly
Staying close to home wasn’t in the cards for Xaverian Brothers quarterback Henry Hasselbeck.
His father, Matt Hasselbeck, starred at Boston College before playing in the National Football League. His son will instead take his talents to the other side of the country.
Hasselbeck announced that he’s committed to play for the UCLA Bruins on Early National Signing Day. The senior quarterback is coming off a strong 2023 season in which he led Xaverian Brothers to a state championship in Massachusetts.
Among the other offers Hasselbeck had on the table were from schools like Boston College, Michigan State and Temple. Hasselbeck was once committed to Michigan State until they decided to parts ways with former head coach Mel Tucker.
