The Standish-Sterling Panthers defeated the Whiteford Bobcats 1-0 with a walk-off double in the Division 3 MHSAA Softball final on Saturday at Secchia Stadium.

Both pitchers dominated through six innings. Neither allowed a run, and Whiteford pitcher Unity Nelson only allowed one hit through seven innings.

Despite the strong pitching performance from Standish-Sterling, Whiteford had its opportunities. The Bobcats left seven runners on base in the game, and they went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring positions.

On the contrary, the Panthers capitalized on one of their two hits in the game.

One of Nelson's few errors in the game, she hit Lexi Mielke with a pitch in a 3-0 count. Macey Fegan walked off the Panthers with an RBI double.

Panther pitcher Devri Jennings pitched seven innings, allowing five hits while striking out seven batters and walking two.

Nelson finished with six innings pitched. She allowed two hits, one earned run while she struck out 12 batters and walked one.

Alyssa Van Brandt had two hits for the Bobcats.
