Three-star WR/CB from West Bloomfield (Mich.) Jamir Benjamin committed to UCLA after a recent visit.

Benjamin decommitted from Northwestern on Sunday. He received an offer from UCLA on July 14.

"The academics," Benjamin told 247sports. "They have good academics and I got to get a closer vibe with the coaches. I talked to Jordan [Anderson] a little bit and he likes it up here. They're coming to the Big Ten so that's big for my family to be able to come to the away games.

"Everything stood out," he said. "The campus is beautiful and the coaches are all good guys. We were hanging out and I got to talk ball with them."

Benjamin told 247sports that he plans to play cornerback at UCLA. He is the No. 28 cornerback in the Class of 2024, and he is the No. 10-ranked player in Michigan.

Benjamin was previously committed to Stanford before decommitting in April.

Benjamin joins Class of 2023 Detroit King quarterback Dante Moore as a prospect from Michigan joining the Bruins.

West Bloomfield fell 38-13 to Cass Tech in the District semifinals in 2022.
