Here are the candidates for the Michigan High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 18-24 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced Monday.

Joe McCarthy, Petoskey High School

Senior quarterback Joe McCarthy had an efficient game for Petoskey as they defeated Alpena, 56-0. McCarthy completed 8 of his 10 passes for 327 passing yards and four passing touchdowns, and also added 30 yards on the ground.

Braylon Isom, Saginaw Heritage High School

Senior wideout Braylon Isom had himself a career performance for Saginaw Heritage as they beat Lapeer, 49-21. Isom finished with 10 catches for 197 receiving yards, and four touchdowns, as he notched 3,000 receiving yards for his career.

Connor Wolf, Grand Rapids Catholic Central

Senior quarterback Connor Wolf had a good performance for Grand Rapids Catholic Central as they beat Cedar Springs, 53-14. Wolf completed 10 of his 13 passes for 208 passing yards, and two passing touchdowns.

Jess Phillips, Grand Rapids Union

Sophomore running back had an explosive game as he led Grand Rapids Union in a win over Wyoming, 47-23. Phillips ran the ball 20 times for 303 yards and found the endzone four times.

AJ Hill, Davison High School

Senior running back AJ Hill was spectacular for Davison in their big win over Saginaw United. Hill only ran the ball four times for 103 rushing yards, with three touchdowns.

Graham Gilmartin, Northville High School

Senior defensive lineman Graham Gilmartin had a dominant showing against Howell in Northville’s 32-12 win. Gilmartin compiled 13 total tackles, two tackles for losses, and two tackles for no gain.

Tanner Collett, Monroe High School

Sophomore linebacker Tanner Collet was huge for Monroe despite their tough loss to Saline, 42-35. Collett would notch 11 total tackles.

Lionel Thompson Jr, Harper Woods Chandler Park

Thompson threw for 204 yards and rushed for 101 yards and Chandler Park's only touchdown in an 8-0 win over Detroit Voyager.

Myles Moore, Avondale High School

Senior running back Myles Moore had himself a day for Avondale in their 25-20 win over Oak Park. Moore rushed for 143 yards on 19 attempts with three touchdowns.

Eli Graves, Kingsley

Kingsley returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, and he rushed for 284 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-21 win over St. Francis. he finished with 493 yards of total offense.

Ryan Relyea, Romeo High School

Senior linebacker Ryan Relyea finished with 10 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and one interception in Romeo’s 31-13 win over Anchor Bay.

Josiah Stewart, Lansing Sexton

Sophomore wide receiver Josiah Stewart caught seven passes for 174 yards and one touchdown in a 42-7 win over Lake Odessa Lakewood. he also returned an interception for a touchdown.

Navea Gauthier, Shelby High School

In girls volleyball, junior outside and middle hitter Navea Gauthier had an outstanding performance in Shelby’s 3-0 win over Ravenna. Gauthier finished the match with 32 kills, five aces, and nine digs.

Cassidy Pratley, Harper Creek High School

Junior middle hitter Cassidy Pratley showed out for Harper Creek as they defeated Hastings, 3-0. Pratley finished the match notching 20 kills, two aces, three total blocks, and two digs.

Iyla Weeks, Concord High School

Junior Iyla Weeks had a great performance for Concord despite their 3-1 loss to Union City. Weeks compiled 23 kills, three aces, 13 digs, and three assists.

Logan LaBrosse, Skeels Christian

In boys soccer, junior Logan LaBrosse had a generational performance for Skeels Christian in their 10-7 win over Fellowship Baptist Academy. LaBrosse contributed to all 10 goals as he finished with seven goals himself, while adding three assists.

Daniel Mung, Battle Creek Academy

Senior Daniel Mung was a standout for Battle Creek Academy as they beat Factoryville Christian High School, 10-0. Mung finished the game with five goals while adding two assists.
