Michigan high school football Team of the Week

East Jordan

East Jordan improved to 7-1 last week with a blowout win against Harbor Springs. Not too long ago, this team was 3-1, but they have now put together a nice four-game win streak. This team is clicking at the right time.

Charlevoix

After starting the season 0-1, Charlevoix has now rattled off seven wins in a row, and they looked great last week in a 44-7 win over Tawas Area. This team is looking like one of the best squads up north.

Montague

This season has had a lot of ups and downs for Montague, but they experienced one of those ups last weekend against Manistee. It was close throughout, but Montague ended up on top with a 24-22 win. Very gritty victory for this team.

Millington

Millington continues to inch closer and closer to pulling off a perfect season. After a 45-0 drubbing of Flint Southwestern, they are now 8-0, and one step closer to achieving their goals.

Ithaca

Another team that is close to pulling off a perfect season is Ithaca. They came into last week’s game against Carrollton with a 7-0 record, and a dominant 52-0 win earned them their eighth consecutive victory.

Freeland

Freeland is a team that was undefeated for a long time, but they suffered their first loss of the season a couple weeks ago. Bouncing back from that first loss this late in the season can be tough, but they got the job done with a 45-12 victory against Glenn. Great response from this team.

Iron Mountain

Iron Mountain continues to impress as they look like one of the most complete teams in the Upper Peninsula. They won another game in dominant fashion last week, defeating Gwinn 61-7. Iron Mountain is now 8-0.

Marquette

Marquette was 1-2 at the beginning of the season, but they have now rattled off four wins in a row to get to 5-2. They looked good last week in a 28-13 win over Cadillac, and this team has a lot of momentum right now.

Michigan Collegiate

Michigan Collegiate has been a force this season, and they got their wins into double digits last week after a win against Chandler Park Academy. This team now has a very impressive 10-0 record.

Napoleon

Another team that has yet to suffer a loss is Napoleon. This team has been perfect this year and their performance against East Jackson on Friday was perfect as well. Napoleon won 40-0, and they are now 8-0.
