The final week of the Michigan high school football season is here. We've got the top teams in the state vying for the top seeds in the state tournament.

No. 7 Saline (7-0) will host No. 6 Lake Orion (8-0) in a top matchup that could decide . A win for either team could make then a one or two seed in the Division 1 playoffs.

No. 1 Belleville (8-0)

The Tigers shutout Fordson (5-3) 40-0 en route to their 33rd consecutive victory. Following the win, junior Belleville quarterback Bryce Underwood visited LSU for the second time. The final team on the regular season schedule for Belleville could be its biggest test, as Northville (8-0) has been one of the best teams in the state this season. With playoffs around the corner, only one team will emerge out of this game undefeated.

No. 2 Rockford (8-0)

Rockford defeated Grandville 34-13 Friday night. The Rams have beaten some of the top programs in Michigan this season, and they haven’t had much trouble doing it. The smallest margin of victory for Rockford this season came in a week one 27-7 victory over Muskegon (6-2). The Rams host Hudsonville (5-3) on October 20 for their last regular season matchup of 2023. 

No. 3 Mason (8-0)

The Bulldogs were able to beat Walled Lake Western (7-1) 30-7 and hand them their first loss of the season. Mason has won each of its last three games by at least 23 points, and it has one of the best offenses in the state. The Bulldogs have to visit Fenton (6-2) before they begin their playoff journey. 

No. 4 Davison (8-0)

Davison defeated Grand Blanc (5-3) by a score of 35-21. 35 points is the least Davison has scored in a game since its week one 31-26 victory over De La Salle. The Cardinals host Lapeer (5-3) next on October 20. 

No. 5 Lake Orion (8-0)

Lake Orion dominated Farmington (2-6) 42-7 Friday night. The Dragons have cruised by almost every opponent they’ve faced this season, but Saline (8-0) is awaiting them. When Lake Orion travels to Saline on October 20, it could be one of the best games in Michigan all season. 

No. 6 Saline (8-0)

Saline beat Skyline (1-7) by a whopping score of 70-0. It was Saline’s second shutout in a row, and its first since it beat Bedford 48-0 on September 15. The Hornets have a matchup with Lake Orion (8-0) next, and whoever comes out on top will be headed into the playoffs with a heap of momentum. 

No. 7 Cass Tech (6-2)

Cass Tech was able to defeat Detroit King (4-4) 24-23 for the second time this season. With the victory, the Technicians secured their second straight Public School League Blue Division championship. Next, Cass Tech is headed back to Ford Field for a matchup with undefeated Central Catholic (Ohio) on October 21. 

No. 8 Northville (8-0)

The Mustangs defeated Novi (6-2) 28-14 Friday night. 14 is the second most points Northville has allowed this season, only behind the 19 it gave up to Canton. Northville has no time to celebrate however, as it has the juggernaut of Belleville (8-0) next on its schedule. 

No. 9 West Bloomfield (6-2)

The Lakers pulled off one of the most impressive wins of the season, defeating Southfield A&T 31-20 (7-1) and handing the Warriors their first loss. West Bloomfield’s 31 points is the second most anyone has scored on Southfield A&T this season, only behind 35 points by Groves. The Lakers have one more game in the regular season against Oak Park (3-5). 

No. 10 De La Salle (6-2)

De La Salle was able to dismantle St. John’s Jesuit (Ohio) 35-3 Friday night. The Pilots have won each of their last three games by at least 32 points, and they’ve allowed a total of 17 points in those games. Next, De La Salle plays Denby (8-0) at Wayne State University on October 20. 

No. 11 Southfield A&T (7-1)

The Warriors were knocked off by West Bloomfield (6-2) 31-20. Southfield A&T has scored 20 points twice this season, the first coming against Clarkston on September 1, and its scored over 28 points in every other game. The Warriors play Renaissance (4-4) next as they will try to get back on track before playoffs. 

No. 12 Muskegon (6-2)

Muskegon easily beat Union (2-5) 51-6 Friday night. The Big Reds have only scored over 51 points once this season when they beat Holland 76-0 on September 8. Muskegon’s last game of the regular season is against Wyoming (1-8) on October 20. 

No. 13 Eisenhower (6-2)

Eisenhower was able to beat its rival Utica (3-5) 34-7. The Eagles have won four games in a row since suffering their only loss to Romeo (20-14) on September 15. Eisenhower is set to host Clarkston (4-4) next. 

No. 14 Chippewa Valley (6-2)

The Big Reds demolished Mott (5-3) 47-6. Chippewa Valley accumulated over 400 total yards on offense, and it held Mott to under 200. The Big Reds face the Bear Creek Kodiaks (Ontario) on October 20 before playoffs begin. 

No. 15 Grandville (6-2)

The Bulldogs fell to Rockford (8-0) by a score of 34-13. 13 points is the least Grandville has scored in a game this season, and its previous low in a game was 21 in a loss to Davison on August 31. Grandville has Jenison (1-7) left on its schedule as the regular season is coming to a close. 

No. 16 Forest Hills Central (7-1)

The Rangers were able to handle Lowell (5-3) for a 37-12 win. Forest Hills Central suffered a 15-14 loss to Byron Center on September 22, but aside from the lone loss, its been consistently beating teams by multiple scores. The Rangers have Greenville (2-5) in front of them next. 

No. 17 Dakota (6-2)

Following a 31-0 loss to Eisenhower, the Cougars managed to beat Utica Ford 42-0. Dakota got back in the win column in a big way, as it was its first shutout victory of the season. Dakota is set to visit St. Mary’s Prep (3-5) for its last game of the regular season. 

No. 18 Walled Lake Western (7-1)

Walled Lake Western suffered its first loss of the season 30-7 against Mason (8-0) Friday night. The Warriors’ defense held Mason to 30 points, but their offense couldn’t keep up. Walled Lake Western has its rival Walled Lake Central (3-5) on October 20. 

No. 19 Groves (6-2)

Groves secured its first shutout victory of the season with a 49-0 win over Ferndale (3-5). 49 points is the most Groves has scored in a game this season, and it's a good time to find a rhythm with the playoffs ahead. Groves has to visit Seaholm (7-1) next. 

No. 20 Grand Rapids Catholic Central (7-1)

The Cougars defeated South Christian (6-2) 21-12. With a total of 33 points on the board, it was the lowest scoring game Grand Rapids Catholic Central has been in this season, the previous low being 44 points in a 38-6 win over River Rouge. The Cougars only have Ottawa Hills (0-8) left on their regular season schedule. 

No. 21 Caledonia (6-2)

Caledonia shutout East Kentwood (3-5) 21-0. The Fighting Scots were able to get back in the win column after losing to Grandville 38-34. Caledonia is set to host Grand Haven (1-7) on October 20. 

No. 22 Heritage (6-2)

Saginaw Heritage defeated Flint Powers Catholic (2-6) 41-6 Friday night. The Hawks have now scored at least 41 points in four straight games. Heritage hosts Arthur Hill (0-8) next. 

No. 23 Detroit Catholic Central (6-2)

The Shamrocks beat La Salle (Ohio) 35-28 Friday night. Detroit Catholic Central has scored at least 35 points in three straight games, its best offensive stretch this season. The Shamrocks close out the regular season at home against Mumford (1-7) on October 20.

No. 24 Mona Shores (6-2)

The Sailors were able to knock off Zeeland West (6-2) with a 14-6 victory. Mona Shores’ only losses this season came against Rockford and Muskegon, which are two of the top teams in the state. Mona Shores visits Zeeland East (4-3) for their final regular season game. 

No. 25 Corunna (8-0)

The Cavaliers dominated Fenton (6-2) 57-7. Corunna has won every game this season by at least 18 points, and they’ve put up almost 400 total points. Corunna faces Armada (5-3) on October 20 before the playoffs begin.
