See the top teams entering the second week of the playoffs

Playoffs have started in Michigan high school football. The second round features a handful of fantastic matchups between teams in the Power 25.

Here is the Power 25 entering the second round of the playoffs:

No. 1 Belleville (10-0)

Belleville secured its 35th straight victory after beating Ann Arbor Huron 48-7 in their district semi-final game. The Tigers finished with nearly 500 yards of total offense, and over 250 of it came on the ground. Belleville is set to play Saline (9-1) next for a district championship

No. 2 Rockford (10-0)

Rockford dominated Holland West Ottawa by a score of 48-6. The Rams have scored 48 points in back-to-back games while giving up a total of just six. Rockford has a matchup with Grandville (8-2) next as they will try to advance further into the playoffs. 

No. 3 Lake Orion (10-0)

The Dragons were able to beat Oxford 58-26 to advance to a district final. Lake Orion accumulated over 500 yards of offense, with over 400 coming on the ground. Next up, the Dragons will play for a district championship against Clarkston (5-5), whom they beat 42-21 on October 6. 

No. 4 Mason (10-0)

Mason took care of Linden by a score of 45-20 Friday night. The Bulldogs ran for over 200 yards while gaining nearly 400 total. Mason beat DeWitt 42-23 on August 31, and it’ll try to come out on top once again when they meet for a district final on November 3. 

No. 5 Davison (10-0)

The Cardinals were coming off of a 56-55 victory over Lapeer, and they had to play them again in the district semi-final. Davison left no stone unturned in the rematch, winning by a whopping score of 76-35. The Cardinals move on to face Grand Blanc (6-4) in a district final. 

No. 6 Saline (9-1)

Saline handled Ann Arbor Pioneer to come out on top 56-14 Friday night. Just two weeks removed from their only loss of the season, the Hornets have a tall task ahead of them to advance in the playoffs as the juggernaut of Belleville (10-0) stands in their way. 

No. 7 West Bloomfield (8-2)

West Bloomfield was able to easily beat Adams 42-14 Friday night. Senior quarterback Reqez Nance had three touchdowns, with two coming on the ground. Senior TE/DE Brandon Davis-Swain (Colorado commit) had one rushing and one receiving touchdown to go with a stellar defensive performance. The Lakers are set to play Utica Eisenhower (9-1) in their next playoff matchup. 

No. 8 Southfield A&T (9-1)

The Warriors defeated Fordson 38-14 to advance to the district championship. Next for Southfield A&T is Cass Tech, whom they beat 29-27 in the first game of the season. On November 4, Southfield A&T has a chance to send the Technicians home for good. 

No. 9 Eisenhower (9-1)

Eisenhower beat rival Utica 35-14 on Friday night. Eisenhower accumulated nearly 500 yards of total offense while holding Utica to under 300. The Eagles have played some good teams this season, but their next game against West Bloomfield (8-2) will likely be their biggest test so far. 

No. 10 De La Salle (8-2)

The defending Division 2 state champs were able to beat Cousino 49-6 in the first round of playoffs. The Pilots put up nearly 400 yards of offense, with over 150 of it coming on the ground. De La Salle is set to play University of Detroit Jesuit (6-2) next. 

No. 11 Cass Tech (7-3)

The Technicians were able to come out on top against Glenn by a score of 35-14. Cass Tech did almost all of its offensive work with its running backs, as it finished with over 250 rushing yards. If the Technicians want to advance to the regional final, they’ll have to get by Southfield A&T (9-1), whom they lost to 29-27 in week one. 

No. 12 Muskegon (8-2)

The Big Reds dominated Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern 41-0. Following a 58-0 victory over Wyoming, Muskegon has posted two shutouts in a row, and three on the season. Muskegon moves on to play Mona Shores (7-3), a team it beat 42-21 on September 15. 

No. 13 Chippewa Valley (8-2)

Chippewa Valley came away with a 45-20 win over Sterling Heights Stevenson Friday night. The Big Reds accumulated almost 350 yards of offense, with over 250 coming through the air. Chippewa Valley is set to play Dakota (8-2) for the district championship on November 3. 

No. 14 Northville (9-1)

The Mustangs came away with a 42-18 victory over Brighton on Friday night. Northville had over 450 yards of offense, with nearly 300 coming through the air. Slated next for Northville is Detroit Catholic Central (8-2) on November 3. 

No. 15 Grandville (8-2)

Grandville was able to edge out a 22-21 victory over Hudsonville to keep its season alive. Grandville’s only losses this season came against teams currently undefeated, Rockford (10-0) and Davison (10-0). Grandville has a chance for revenge when it visits Rockford with a district championship on the line next. 

No. 16 Forest Hills Central (9-1)

Forest Hills Central was able to beat Lowell for the second time this season by a score of 35-20. The Rangers pounded the rock throughout the game and finished with over 300 rushing yards. Forest Hills Central has to play Mt. Pleasant (9-1) next for a chance to move on to the regional final. 

No. 17 Walled Lake Western (9-1)

Walled Lake Western demolished Thurston en route to a 70-0 victory in their district semi-final. The Warriors controlled the game through its rushing attack and rushing defense, as they posted over 250 rushing yards while holding Thurston to -19 yards on the ground. Walled Lake Western is set to play Avondale (9-1) next. 

No. 18 Dakota (8-2)

Dakota was able to sneak by Lakeview with a 10-7 win. The Cougars had a balanced approach against Lakeview as they gained 171 yards through the air along with 161 on the ground. Awaiting Dakota in the district final is Chippewa Valley (8-2), a team it lost to 28-21 on September 22. 

No. 19 Grand Rapids Catholic Central (9-1)

The Cougars were able to handle Benton Harbor 42-6 Friday night. Grand Rapids Catholic Central has won nine games in a row after dropping its first game of the year against Loyola Academy (Illinois). The Cougars have Berrien Springs (6-3) slated next. 

No. 20 Caledonia (8-2)

The Fighting Scots defeated Portage Northern 72-30 in their district semi-final. Over its last two games, Caledonia has put up 128 points. Caledonia is set to play Byron Center (9-1) in a district final on November 3. 

No. 21 Detroit Catholic Central (8-2)

Detroit Catholic Central scored three second half touchdowns to secure a 49-22 victory over Novi. Shamrock quarterback Jayden Pydyn had nearly 200 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the win. The Shamrocks advance to play Northville (9-1) for a district title next. 

No. 22 Heritage (7-3)

Heritage dominated Traverse City Central by a score of 62-7. The Hawks have outscored their opponents 119-19 over the last two games, and it's their best offensive stretch of the season. Heritage has a chance to advance to a regional final when it plays Dow (6-4) on November 3.

No. 23 Corunna (10-0)

Corunna remains one of the last undefeated teams in the state after dominating Hamady 45-7 Friday night. The Cavaliers have only allowed more than seven points in a game twice this season, and the most they’ve given up in a game is 20 (Pinckney). Corunna is set to play Notre Dame Prep (9-0) for a district title, and one of them has to come away with a loss. 

No. 24 Mt. Pleasant (9-1)

Mt. Pleasant was able to beat Northview 31-17 to advance to a district championship. The Oilers have scored at least 30 points in five straight games, but it hasn’t come against the toughest competition. Everything will be on the line when Forest Hills Central (9-1) comes to town on November 4.

No. 25 Byron Center (9-1)

Byron Center beat Portage Central 42-23 in their district semi-final. Byron Center accumulated over 200 rushing yards and nearly 400 total yards of offense. Slated next for the Bulldogs is Caledonia (8-2), which will likely be their biggest test of the season.
