Michigan high school football: ranking the top 25 remaining teams
The Michigan high school football state semifinals are here, and SBLive has ranked the top 25 remaining teams.

Here are the Power Rankings headed into the high school football semifinals.
Belleville dominated Northville 49-7 to capture its third Division I regional title in a row. Junior Tiger quarterback Bryce Underwood had three passing touchdowns, and he also added one on the ground.
Belleville has won 37 games since its last loss, and the defending state champs have a chance to advance to another state final with a win over Davison on November 18.
Davison was able to beat Rockford 28-14 Saturday afternoon in a postseason battle of undefeated teams. The Cardinals have scored at least 24 points in every game this season.
Davison has to play Belleville next in the semi-final, and Belleville hasn’t given up more than 14 points since it gave up 28 to River Rouge in week one.
Mason edged out Walled Lake Western for a 44-41 victory Friday night. Mason was outgained 370-316, but it had much more success through the air, accumulating 250 passing yards. Mason is set to play King in the semi-final on November 18.
The Warriors beat Chippewa Valley 31-21 to advance to the state semi-finals. Southfield A&T put up over 425 yards of offense, including over 200 on the ground.
The Warriors have a rematch with West Bloomfield in the semi-finals next, when they’ll look to avenge the loss they took earlier in the season (31-20).
West Bloomfield was able to squeak by Clarkston with a 21-20 win Friday night. The Lakers gained over 350 total yards, and most of it came on the ground.
Clarkston handed West Bloomfield one of its two losses this season, but the Lakers came ready in the rematch. West Bloomfield will look to avoid a similar situation when it plays Southfield A&T in the semi-final, a team it already beat 31-20 earlier in the season.
De La Salle defeated Roseville 34-14 to win a Division II regional title. The Pilots have scored at least 25 points in seven straight games heading into their semi-final matchup against Mott.
The defending state champs have a chance to get back to Ford Field with a victory on November 18.
The Big Reds demolished Heritage 42-14 in their Division III regional title game. Muskegon has now scored over 40 points in five straight games.
Muskegon is set to play East Lansing next with a trip to the state championship on the line.
No. 8 Forest Hills Central (11-1)
The Rangers were able to take care of Gaylord 33-7 Friday night. Forest Hills Central outgained Gaylord by over 200 yards, and it held Gaylord to 11 passing yards.
The Rangers are set to play Zeeland West for a chance to advance to the Division III state title.
The Corsairs handled Carlson 40-19 Friday night. Mott gained nearly 400 total yards, with most of it coming through the air. Mott will have to dethrone the defending champion De La Salle (10-2) on November 18 if it wants a chance at a state title.
The Trojans defeated Byron Center 42-20 in their regional title game. East Lansing has scored at least 35 points in each of its last five games, while giving up no more than 21.
The Trojans have to play Muskegon (10-2) next for a chance to advance to a Division II state championship.
King outlasted River Rouge for a 20-19 overtime win on Friday night. The Crusaders ran for nearly 200 yards, and they held River Rouge to under 200 yards of total offense.
King has to play Mason (12-0) next, and it will likely be one of its biggest tests of the season.
The Dux dominated Western en route to a 42-7 victory Saturday afternoon. Zeeland West gained nearly 400 yards of offense, and it did most of it with its legs.
Zeeland West is set to play Forest Hills Central (11-1) in a Division III semi-final matchup next.
No. 13 Grand Rapids Catholic Central (11-1)
Grand Rapids Catholic Central beat rival West Catholic 30-28 in their Division 5 regional title game. The Cougars have now scored at least 30 points in four straight games.
Grand Rapids Catholic Central is set to face Frankenmuth (11-1) in the semi-final on November 18.
Corunna dominated Lutheran North 56-18 Friday night. The Cavaliers gained over 400 total yards, with nearly 300 coming on the ground.
Corunna will play Flat Rock (9-3) next for a chance to advance to the Division 4 state championship.
The Sailors were able to beat Big Rapids 55-35 in their regional final. 55 points is the most South Christian has scored in a game since it put up 66 against Christian week one.
The defending Division 4 state champs have a semi-final matchup with Portland (12-0) next.
Harper Woods easily beat Airport 46-19 Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers have outscored their previous two opponents 96-19 heading into their semi-final on November 18.
Harper Woods is set to play 2022 runner-up Goodrich (11-1) next.
The Raiders beat Niles 21-14 Friday night. Seven points was the smallest margin of victory for Portland in a game this season, and 21 points was the least its scored.
Portland goes up against 2022 state champ South Christian (9-3) next.
The Stags took care of Gladstone 51-27 to advance to a Division 6 state semi-final. Kingsley has scored over 50 points in four of its last five games, and seven games total.
Kingsley has to play Reed City (9-3) next, whom it beat 46-12 in week one.
The Martians beat Haslett 24-17 to advance to a semi-final for the second year straight. Goodrich has rattled off six wins in a row after falling to Corunna on September 29.
Goodrich is set to play Harper Woods (9-3) as it tries to end up back in the state championship.
The Eagles were able to beat Kingsford 35-13 Saturday afternoon. Prior to Saturday’s game, Frankenmuth had scored over 60 points in back-to-back games.
Frankenmuth is set to play Grand Rapids Catholic Central (11-1) in a semi-final on November 18.
North Muskegon edged out Pewamo-Westphalia 28-27 in their regional final. The game was a rematch from week one, when North Muskegon won 17-14.
The Norsemen are set to play Menominee (10-2) next for a chance to advance to a Division 7 state final.
The Raiders defeated Edison Academy 49-24 Friday night. Almont was coming off of a 40-38 overtime win over Michigan Collegiate in the district final.
Almont is set to play Ovid-Elsie (8-4) for a chance at a Division 6 state title.
The Maroons demolished McBain 40-0 Saturday afternoon. Menominee has scored at least 40 points in four straight games, a trend it’ll try to keep up with when it plays North Muskegon (12-0) next.
Whiteford dominated White Pigeon 54-6 Friday night. The Bobcats have scored at least 43 points in eight games this season, and they’ve broken 50 five times.
Whiteford is set to play Riverview Gabriel Richard (8-4) in a semi-final next.
Flat Rock was able to beat Southeastern 56-26 in their regional final matchup. The Rams have scored at least 42 points in every playoff game so far.
Flat Rock has to play Corunna (12-0) next, and it will likely be its biggest challenge yet.
