The Michigan high school boys basketball season continues with Orchard Lake St. Mary's at the top spot of the Power 25.

Brother Rice comes in at No. 2 after defeated a top-25 University of Detroit Jesuit 71-57.

No. 1 St. Mary’s (3-0)

The Eaglets remained undefeated after taking down Old Redford Academy (70-40) and St. John’s Jesuit (61-49) last week. Junior St. Mary’s forward Trey McKenney had 26 points in three quarters against Old Redford Academy, as he continues to lead the Eaglets on a quest for a state title. 

No. 2 Brother Rice (6-0)

The Warriors were able to beat University of Detroit Jesuit 71-57 Friday night. Brother Rice has scored over 70 points in all but one game this season, and it’ll be put to the test when it visits De La Salle on December 21. 

No. 3 North Farmington (4-0)

North Farmington beat Zeeland West 66-57 on Saturday. The Raiders have to visit Groves next on December 19. 

No. 4 Warren Lincoln (3-0)

The Abes dominated Port Huron Northern en route to a 80-46 victory. It was the first interleague (Macomb Area - Silver) game for Warren Lincoln this season, and it won’t have another one until it plays Eisenhower early in January. The Abes are set to host Romeo next on December 19. 

No. 5 Cass Tech (4-0)

The Technicians cruised by Ford for a 66-43 interleague (Detroit Public I) win. Cass Tech has a short break until its next game against Chelsea on December 27. 

No. 6 De La Salle (4-0)

De La Salle was able to edge out a 54-53 victory against rival Detroit Catholic Central on Friday. It was the first of two matchups between the Catholic League (Central) foes, with the second coming on January 16. De La Salle is back in league action against Brother Rice on December 21. 

No. 7 East Lansing (3-0)

East Lansing dismantled Seaholm and took home a 57-16 win. The Trojans have to visit Everett next for an interleague (Capital Area - Blue) matchup on December 19. 

No. 8 Northview (4-0)

Northview dominated Kenowa Hills by a score of 78-55 Friday night. The Wildcats have scored 70 points or more in two straight games, and they’ll look to keep it going when they play Forest Hills Eastern next. 

No. 9 Grand Rapids Christian (4-0)

The Eagles stayed undefeated after beating Byron Center 45-34. After three straight road games, Christian returns home to Grand Rapids to play rival G.R. Catholic Central on December 18. 

No. 10 Muskegon (2-0)

The Big Reds edged out a 52-51 victory over Rockford on Friday night. Muskegon has a short break until its next game against Ottawa Hills on December 27. 

No. 11 U of D Jesuit (4-1)

The Cubs lost their first game of the season against Brother Rice by a score of 71-57. If the Cubs want to avoid losing back-to-back games, they’ll have to find a way to beat St. Mary’s on December 18. 

No. 12 Ferndale (3-1)

Ferndale defeated Groves 91-67 in its first league (Oakland- Red) game of the season. The Eagles have two more league games headed their way in the form of Oak Park (12/19) and West Bloomfield (12/21).

No. 13 South Christian (3-1)

The Sailors were able to beat rival Unity Christian 58-56 Friday night. South Christian will look to make it four wins in a row when it hosts Hudsonville on December 19.

No. 14 Heritage (3-0)

Heritage remained undefeated after beating Goodrich 69-44. The Hawks have scored over 60 points in all three of their games this season, and they’ve also held each of their opponents to under 47. Heritage hosts Freeland next on December 19. 

No. 15 Ann Arbor Huron (3-0)

The River Rats defeated Edison Academy 62-38 on Saturday to stay undefeated. Brother Rice is the next team Ann Arbor Huron has to face, but it has time to prepare as the game won’t come until December 28. 

No. 16 Dearborn (4-0)

The Pioneers dominated Avondale 76-27 Saturday. Over its past two games, Dearborn has outscored its opponents 174-61. The Pioneers are set to visit Monroe next on December 19. 

No. 17 Grand Rapids Catholic Central (1-1)

The Cougars are coming off their first loss of the season against Northview (70-67). Their chance to bounce back comes against rival Christian on December 18.

No. 18 River Rouge (3-1)

River Rouge beat Belleville 64-52 on Saturday. The Panthers have yet to allow an opponent to score over 60 points in a game this season, and that’ll be put to the test when they visit West Bloomfield on December 19. 

No. 19 Grosse Pointe South (4-1)

The Blue Devils defeated Roseville 59-50 to capture their third straight win. It was the first league (Macomb Area - Red) matchup of the season for Grosse Pointe South, and it has another one next against Chippewa Valley on December 19. 

No. 20 Hudsonville (3-1)

Hudsonville was able to beat Reeths-Puffer 64-52 Friday night. The Eagles have four straight home games heading their way, the first coming against South Christian on December 19. 

No. 21 Detroit Catholic Central (3-2)

Following a loss to rival De La Salle, the Shamrocks defeated John Glenn 54-41. Detroit Catholic Central is set to play Riverview Gabriel Richard next on December 19. 

No. 22 Powers Catholic (5-0)

The Chargers dominated Fenton 92-65 on December 9. Powers has scored over 60 points in every game this season, and it’ll look to keep it going when they host North Branch on December 19. 

No. 23 Hamtramck (5-1)

The Cosmos defeated Romeo by a score of 64-45. Aside from its game against River Rouge, Hamtramck has scored over 60 points in every game its won this season. The Cosmos host Whitehall next on December 20. 

No. 24 Saline (5-0)

Saline dominated Monroe 64-37 on Friday night. It was the second league (Southeastern - Red) matchup of the season for the Hornets, as they sit at 2-0. Next, Saline has a test against East Lansing on December 21. 

No. 25 Riverview Gabriel Richard (5-0)

Riverview Gabriel Richard beat Taylor Trillium Academy 73-55. The Pioneers have a chance to test themselves against Detroit Catholic Central on December 19.
