Bryce Underwood commits to LSU, giving Tigers another 5-star high school football recruit

The Belleville (Michigan) five-star quarterback is the nation's top high school football prospect

Bryce Underwood, the top high school football prospect in the class of 2025, committed to the LSU Tigers on Saturday.

The quarterback and Belleville (Michigan) prospect chose LSU over Alabama, Colorado, Florida State, Michigan, Oregon and Penn State during an announcement at his high school.

Underwood took multiple trips to Baton Rouge in 2023. He visited twice in the summer, and he took a visit to LSU on October 14 for a game against Auburn.

"It was a great experience," Underwood told SBLive. "That was my first game ever at an SEC game. They showed me a great time, great vibe, definitely."

In his junior season, Underwood threw for 3,329 yards and 41 touchdowns with 199 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

“Bryce Underwood will likely go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of high school football in Michigan," MLive's Greg Wickliffe said. "His junior season was just as impressive as his first two campaigns as he led Belleville to a 13-1 record and a third-straight championship appearance. He was the most consistent player this season with more than 40 touchdown passes to only three interceptions.”

Underwood joins fellow 5-stars Dakorrien Moore (WR) and Harlem Berry (RB) in the Tigers' 2025 class. Underwood is the eighth commit in the class.
