Watch: Michigan's Donovan Edwards opens CFP National Championship with 41-yard TD run

The West Bloomfield graduate scored the first touchdown of the College Football Playoff National Championship game

Michigan running back and West Bloomfield product Donovan Edwards started the College Football Playoff National Championship Game with a bang with a 41-yard touchdown run on the Wolverines' opening drive. 

The run gave the Wolverines a 7-0 lead in the game. Edwards has rushed for 393 yards entering the game with three touchdowns. This touchdown run is his longest of the season with his previous being 22.

Edwards attended West Bloomfield high school, and he's one of four West Bloomfield athletes on the Wolverines.
