The West Bloomfield Lakers remain at the top

The Rockford Rams (11-1) picked up one of the best wins last week with a victory over West Ottawa (7-3). 

The West Bloomfield Lakers (9-0) continue with a perfect record as we approach February.

No. 1 West Bloomfield (9-0)

West Bloomfield continues to impress with another perfect week. Some would argue for other teams to be in the top spot, but has anyone been more consistent than West Bloomfield?

No. 2 East Kentwood (11-1)

A lot of teams avoided a loss this week, and East Kentwood is one of them. They did suffer a defeat earlier in the year, but they are playing as well as anyone right now.

No. 3 Rockford (11-1)

This Rockford team picked up one of the best wins of the week as they took down West Ottawa, who is also featured in our rankings. That was a huge game, and Rockford came out with the win.

No. 4 Detroit Renaissance (12-0)

Detroit Renaissance simply just keeps winning. Another perfect week for this team, and they are now 12-0 on the season.

No. 5 Gabriel Richard (12-0)

Gabriel Richard is another team that had a perfect week to keep their perfect season alive. They won the week, and they are also 12-0 on the season.

No. 6 Detroit Edison (15-0)

Detroit Edison has played more games than most teams in the state, and they have won every single one of them. This team is an extremely impressive 15-0, and they aren’t showing signs of slowing down.

No. 7 Grand Rapids West Catholic (10-1)

When you think of consistency, you think of Grand Rapids West Catholic. Not just women’s basketball, but everything. Although, this women’s basketball team is very impressive. 

No. 8 Goodrich (11-0)

Another undefeated team is Goodrich. They had another impressive week this week to improve to 11-0, and they look like one of the best teams in the state.

No. 9 Grand Haven (10-1)

Grand Haven isn’t undefeated, but they have only lost one game. They avoided a loss this past week, and they are playing great basketball right now.

No. 10 Ispheming (10-0)

Back to the undefeateds. Ishpeming has taken down every team standing in their way so far, and they look like a championship contender.

No. 11 Arbor Prep (8-2)

Arbor Prep has been impressive in recent weeks. They lost a couple games early in the season, but right now, they are winning and that’s it.

No. 12 Stoney Creek (9-0)

Stoney Creek is 9-0 and they have looked impressive while getting there. It doesn’t matter who you play, starting 9-0 is difficult to do.

No. 13 Byron Center (8-2)

Byron Center is another team that had a shaky start, but they have bounced back well. This team is one of the hottest in the state right now.

No. 14 Brandywine (9-0)

Brandywine is another undefeated team that has been very consistent this season. It has been impressive to see, and they have looked very good this year.

No. 15 Belleville (9-1)

Belleville has only lost one game this season, and they might not lose another if they keep playing like they have been. The Tigers look good right now.

No. 16 Chelsea (8-3)

Chelsea dropped a tough one to Freeland last week, but after a good week and a Freeland loss, they moved up in the rankings.

No. 17 Negaunee (12-1)

Negaunee is another team that benefited from the Freeland loss as they moved up a spot as well. Another good week for this team.

No. 18 Freeland (9-1)

Freeland dropped a couple spots after suffering their first loss of the season. Still, this is a very good basketball team.

No. 19 Elk Rapids (10-1)

Elk Rapids had a great week to improve to 10-1 on the season. This team is flying under the radar a bit, but they are very good.

No. 20 Lowell (9-2)

Lowell also found a way to win this week as they improved to 9-2 on the year. This team has a chip on their shoulder.

No. 21 DeWitt (11-3)

This Dewitt team didn’t start the season the way they wanted to, but their response has been impressive. They are now 11-3 and surging forward.

No. 22 Dakota (11-2)

What a season so far for Dakota. They had another good week as they avoided a loss to improve to 11-2 on the year. Dakota is a tough out.

No. 23 Jackson Northwest (9-1)

Jackson Northwest, like most other ranked teams, kept their ranking after a good week. They remain in the #23 spot with a 9-1 record.

No. 24 Grand Blanc (9-3)

One of the few changes from the week is Grand Blanc moving up a spot. They had a good week, and West Ottawa, who was ahead of them, dropped a game.

No. 25 West Ottawa (7-3)

West Ottawa put up a good fight against Rockford this week, but they couldn’t get the win. They are still in the rankings, but a loss next week could drop them out.
