Michigan High School Athlete of the Week nominees
Tyler Ode, Saginaw Heritage
Senior forward and Toledo commit Tyler Ode was hot from the field as he finished with 34 points in Saginaw Heritage’s win over Detroit UPrep, 86-53.
Trenton Taratuta, Hillman
Senior Trenton Taratuta had himself a career night, knocking down a Hillman school record 11 3-pointers on his way to 52 points in a win against Rogers City, 83-47.
Durral Brooks, Grand Rapids Catholic Central
Senior guard and Michigan commit Durral Brooks finished with 36 points as he led GRCC to a 65-53 win over Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills.
Christian Fontaine, Lutheran
Senior guard/forward Christian Fontaine notched a double-double as he finished with 28 points and 13 rebounds nine blocks, four assists, and three steals.
Camden Thompson, Whitehall
Junior guard/forward Camden Thompson continues to dominate as he notched a double-double with 19 points and 18 rebounds while adding six steals, and two assists in a 66-47 win over Newaygo.
Madison Morson, Plymouth Salem
Senior guard Madison Morson scored a game-high 35 points for Salem as they defeated rival Canton, 60-46.
Gabby Reynolds, Holland West Ottawa
Senior Gabby Reynolds finished with 34 points as she led Holland West Ottawa to a 61-34 win against Caledonia.
Averie Zinn, Genesee
Sophomore guard Averie Zinn is continuing to shine for Genesee as she dropped 50 points, setting a school record, along with 15 steals in a win over Bendle, 70-45.
Iyanna Davis, Ferndale
Freshman center Iyanna Davis had a dominant performance as she notched a double-double with 19 points and 26 rebounds along with two steals and three blocks as Ferndale defeated Avondale, 66-49.
Carolina Mancera, Lawrence
Sophomore guard/forward Carolina Mancera showed out in Lawerence’s 46-35 win over Fennville as she finished with 27 points and 14 rebounds.
Tate Hubler, Grosse Ile
Senior forward Tate Hubler notched a hat trick and more as he finished with four goals and one assist in a 6-2 win over Escanaba.
Matthew Wagner, North Oakland
Senior forward Matthew Wagner would finish with a hat trick as he scored three goals with two assists as he led North Oakland in a win over Grand Blanc, 5-4.
Nate Dixon, Rockford
Senior forward Nate Dixon led Rockford to a 7-4 win over Escanaba as he finished with three goals and two assists.
