See where the top teams rank across the state

Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard (19-0) jumps to the No. 2 spot in the Michigan high school girls basketball Power 25. The Fighting Irish remain undefeated with wins in the Catholic High School League over Farmington Hills Mercy and Toledo Central Catholic (OH).

No. 1 Rockford (18-1)

We had a lot of shake up last week after a lot of teams suffered losses. That wasn’t the case this past week, and there are no changes at the top. Rockford is No. 1.

No. 2 Gabriel Richard (19-0)

Coming in at No. 2 is Gabriel Richard. They did move up a spot from No. 3 last week because they just keep winning, and their undefeated record can’t be ignored.

No. 3 West Bloomfield (16-1)

West Bloomfield moved up one spot as well after another impressive week. They still have just one blemish on their record.

No. 4 Detroit Renaissance (14-1)

Detroit Renaissance has responded well to their first loss of the season and they have now won a few games in a row. They come in at No. 4 this week.

No. 5 East Kentwood (15-2)

No movement this week for East Kentwood as they were able to take care of business. They are a very impressive 15-2 on the season. 

No. 6 Grand Rapids West Catholic (16-1)

Grand Rapids West Catholic continues to impress as they are the latest elite athletic program from the school this year. GRCC wants to win a championship.

No. 7 Goodrich (18-0)

This team just keeps winning. Goodrich is at No. 7 this week, and they will stay right near the top if they can stay undefeated.

No. 8 Orchard Lake St. Mary's (18-0)

The same thing goes for Orchard Lake St. Mary’s. They keep winning, and they are now 18-0 on the season. They are our 8th ranked team this week.

No. 9 Belleville (16-1)

One team that is playing very well right now is Belleville. The Tigers have lost just one game on the season, and they are a very tough out for anybody right now.

No. 10 Detroit Edison (22-2)

Detroit Edison couldn’t stay undefeated as they lost a couple games recently, but they are back to their winning ways. They picked up a huge win against Arbor Prep this week.

No. 11 Negaunee (18-1)

Another team that has bounced back well after losing their first game is Negaunee. They are once again scorching hot, and they are now 18-1.

No. 12 Ishpeming (16-1)

Ishpeming is in the same boat as the two teams above them. Bouncing back from losses is difficult, but they have done a great job, and they still have only lost one game. 

No. 13 Arbor Prep (14-3)

This past week wasn’t easy for Arbor Prep. They had a tough schedule, and they fell to Detroit Edison and Detroit Country Day. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back.

No. 14 West Ottawa (13-4)

West Ottawa has done a nice job of settling into their difficult schedule. They had a solid week, and they are now 13-4.

No. 15 Grand Haven (14-4)

Grand Haven can relate to West Ottawa as well. These are two very similar teams, and both are having terrific years.

No. 16 Chelsea 

This Chelsea team is playing some very good basketball right now. The Bulldogs are 14-4, and they could be a real threat come March.

No. 17 Brandywine (14-1)

One team flying way under the radar is Brandywine. They are 14-1, and they are going to be an interesting team to watch next month.

No. 18 DeWitt (15-3)

A lot of people are sleeping on Dewitt as well. Not everyone has them ranked, but we’ve got them at No. 18 this week.

No. 19 Byron Center (14-4)

Byron Center continues to win and is now 14-4 on the season. Everything hasn’t been perfect for them this season, but they are finding a way to win basketball games. 

No. 20 Dow (14-2)

How about Dow this season? They are now 14-2 on the year and they have looked like a legit contender. It’s been an impressive season.

No. 21 Grand Blanc (14-3)

Grand Blanc is hoping to continue a climb in the rankings, and they are currently at No. 21. This team has been playing good basketball, and if they keep winning, they will rise.

No. 22 Bedford (14-1)

Bedford is an interesting team this season. They are now 14-1 after another good week, and they have the ability to make some noise down the stretch.

No. 23 Stoney Creek (13-3)

Stoney Creek is up one spot to No. 23 this week as they are now 13-3 on the year. We’ll see if they can continue to rise.

No. 24 Frankenmuth (15-2)

Frankenmuth also moved up a spot and they are 15-2 on the season. They have been an exciting team to watch all year long

No. 25 Elk Rapids (16-2)

Welcome back to the rankings, Elk Rapids. This team is winning a lot of games right now, and they are rewarded with the No. 25 spot.
