Hopkins girls basketball's Liv McGill commits to Florida
Hopkins girls basketball junior guard Liv McGill committed to the University of Florida on Monday, she announced via Twitter.
McGill is the No. 14-ranked recruit in the class of 2024 by HoopGurlz.
McGill averaged 14 points per game and three assists per game, according to stats submitted to MNgirlsbasketballhub.
McGill was named to SBLive's second team All-State, and she was a critical part of Hopkins' 2023 Class 4A runner-up season, as well as the 2022 Class 4A title team.
Florida's coach, Kelly Rae Finley, is a graduate of Breck high school where she attended from 1999 to 2003. Florida finished the season with a 19-14 record and a loss in the WNIT quarterfinal against Bowling Green.
Hopkins' seniors Nunu Agara and Taylor Woodson are also committed to Division I programs. Agara is signed to Stanford, and Woodson is signed to Michigan.
McGill is one of two girls from Minnesota ranked in the top-15 recruits of 2024. Benilde-St. Margaret's Olivia Olson is No. 7 and committed to Michigan.
