Minnetonka football holds on to defeat Shakopee
The Skippers remain undefeated with the win over the Sabers
The No. 6 Minnetonka Skippers (5-0) defeated the No. 7 Shakopee Sabers (3-2) 14-13 Friday at Shakopee high school.
Minnetonka took the lead on a touchdown pass from quarterback Caleb Francois to Hudson Poole for a 7-0 lead with two minutes, 15 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
The Skippers scored again, this time with 1:37 left in the first half, from a touchdown pass from Francois to Joran Thomsen for a 14-0 lead.
The game was delayed by lightning for over an hour.
Shakopee cut the lead to 14-7 with a quarterback sneak from Judah Forsberg with 5:53 remaining in the third quarter. Forsberg scored again, but the PAT was no good, and the Skippers held on to win.
