See which top players are named to SBLive's first and second team all-state offense

The 2023 Minnesota high school football season is over, and thousands of athletes competed on the gridiron.

SBLive Minnesota has named a first and second team all-state offense with the goal of highlighting the top performers this season. The teams are built regardless of class to encompass 11 standout players.

Many of the following athletes will be included in classification Player of the Year votes to be posted next week.

FIRST TEAM ALL-STATE

Quarterback

Tanner Zolnosky – East Ridge

Zolnosky was the leader in a playoff run that ended one point short of U.S. Bank Stadium and the Class 6A semifinals. In three playoff games, Zolnosky combined for 768 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, 222 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Zolnosky finished this season with 2,344 yards and 22 total touchdowns.


Running Back

Maxwell Woods – Chanhassen

A Class 5A state champion, Woods was one of the premier playmakers in the state season. His acceleration and elusiveness made the senior running back difficult to tackle for every defense. 

Woods finished with 1,851 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns, according to stats submitted to mnfootballhub.com. In the Class 5A Prep Bowl, Woods ran for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

Woods is committed to North Dakota State.

Savion Hart – St. Thomas Academy

Hart was on the other sideline in the Class 5A Prep Bowl, and he was equally as impressive. Hart ran for 226 yards and two touchdowns in the game. Hart finished his senior season with 2,642 yards at 8.9 yards per carry with 39 touchdowns.

D’Mario Davenport – Andover

Davenport was the leading rusher for the Huskies, and he caught the second most passes. His versatility helped an Andover offense that propelled it to the Class 5A semifinal.

Davenport finished with 1,111 rushing yards for 23 touchdowns while catching 39 passes for 702 yards and nine touchdowns.

Wide Receiver 

Cameron Begalle – Andover

Begalle was one of the top producers on the outside for one of the top offenses in the state. The junior had the speed and smooth route-running to pull away from defensive backs. He finished the season with 74 receptions, 1,252 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

Nolan Ginskey – Owatonna

The junior led the Owatonna offense to the Class 5A quarterfinals. His big plays came when he was lined up in the slot and in the backfield, and the Huskies made clear plans to get the ball in his hands.

Ginskey posted stellar numbers in 2023. He finished with 73 receptions for 1,194 yards and eight touchdowns.


Offensive Line

Emerson Mandell – Irondale

Emerson is committed to Wisconsin, and he’s got the size to thrive at the Division 1 level. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, and he’s nominated for MFCA’s Mr. Football.

Will Sather – Eden Prairie

Sather was the center on a dominant Eden Prairie offensive line. The Eagles routinely held the ball from opponents for long drives on offense for an average of 276.8 rushing yards per game and 43 touchdowns. Sather will attend Princeton for football and wrestling.

Wyatt Bell – Rogers

Bell is 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, which he used all of to overwhelm defensive lineman. Bell is committed to North Dakota.

Brycen Lotz – Braham

At 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, Lotz dominated this season. He was named to the All-District team and the district’s most valuable lineman. Lotz is committed to the University of Wyoming.

Tait Anderberg – Lakeville North

One of the top tackles in the state. Anderberg pushed defenders off the line all season. Anderberg is committed to Northern Iowa.

SECOND TEAM ALL-STATE

QB Bart McAninch – Mankato West

RB Charles Langama – Maple Grove

RB John Warpinski – Edina

WR Sonny Villegas - Edina

WR Carter Holcomb – Rochester Mayo

WR Khijohnn Cummings-Coleman – Coon Rapids

OL Ethan Sims – Eden Prairie

OL Hayden Broich – Eden Prairie

OL Joe Duerr – St. Michael-Albertville

OL Greg Meidl – Mankato West

OL Anton Kadlec – Hutchinson
