Warroad boys hockey player scores 'Michigan goal' in MSHSL Class 1A quarterfinals (Watch)
ST. PAUL — The No. 2-seed Warroad Warriors (23-5) played the New Ulm Eagles (23-5) in the Class 1A quarterfinal of the 2024 MSHSL boys hockey state tournament on Wednesday at Xcel Energy Center.
With a 3-0 lead in the second period, Warroad sophomore Dominic Anthony decided to show his skill. He picked up the puck and shot it toward goal. New Ulm goaltender Benjamin Norris went to save it, but the puck slipped past his blocker and crossed the line.
The goal was reviewed after initially it was not called a goal on the ice.
