Live score recap: Rosemount upsets Centennial/SLP in Minnesota high school girls hockey Class 2A quarterfinal

The No. 7-seed Rosemount Irish (22-7) upset the No. 2 Centennial/Spring Lake Park Cougars (26-3) 3-2 in the Minnesota high school girls hockey state tournament Class 2A quarterfinals on Thursday, February 20 at Xcel Energy Center.
Rosemount goalie Gianna Marchese saved 33 shots as the Irish defense kept the Cougars off the scoreboard until the third period. The Cougars had 35 shots on goal to Rosemount's 22, but Marchese stood tall, and Rosemount's defenders blcoked 21 shots.
The Irish battled through undisciplined play. They were called for five penalties, but Centennial only converted on one power play.
Annalee Holzer had two goals for Rosemount, and Grace Laager had both goals for Centennial.
Rosemount will play the winner of No. 3-seed Hill-Murray vs. No. 6 Andover on Friday at 6 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. Centennial will play in the consolation bracket on Friday at TRIA Rink.
