STATE QUARTERFINALS – TOP BOYS BASKETBALL PERFORMANCES
Rashad Bolden, St. Andrew's: Bolden dropped a game-high 36 points to lead St. Andrew's to a 71-52 win over Jefferson Davis County in the 3A quarterfinals.
Devin Carter, Florence: Despite facing constant double teams, Carter scored 15 points in Florence's loss to Lanier in the 4A quarterfinals. It was the first loss of the season for Florence (20-1).
Demarius Coleman, Harrison Central: Coleman filled up the stat sheet with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead Harrison Central to a 69-58 win over Brandon in the 6A quarterfinals.
TyNerious Daniels, Jefferson Davis County: Daniels scored 22 points to lead Jefferson Davis County in their 3A quarterfinals loss to St. Andrew's.
Adin Johnson, Ingomar: Johnson scored a game-high 23 points to lead Ingomar to a 64-56 overtime win over Byers in the 1A quarterfinals.
Javion Johnson, St. Andrew's: Johnson scored 18 points in St. Andrew's 71-52 win over Jeff Davis County.
Trey McKinney, Booneville: McKinney scored 26 points to lead Booneville to a 56-37 win over Houston in the 3A quarterfinals.
Devin Moore, Byers: Moore led Byers with 15 points in their OT loss to Ingomar in the 1A quarterfinals.
Daeshun Ruffin, Callaway: A few days after being named a McDonald's All-American, Ruffin dropped 39 points in Callaway's 80-75 double-overtime loss to Lake Cormorant.
Corterious Shaw, Lanier: The big 6-foot-4 senior scored just four points in the first half, but added eight more in the third quarter and four in the fourth to finish with a game-high 16 points in Lanier's 4A quarterfinals win over Florence.
Zach Shugars, Ingomar: Shugars came up big in overtime, scoring seven of his 18 points to help lift Ingomar over Byers in the 1A quarterfinals.
Isaac Smith, Itawamba: Smith, only a sophomore, tallied 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead Itawamba to a 48-25 win over Shannon in the 4A quarterfinals.
Tyson Smithey, Ingomar: Smithey scored 19 points in Ingomar's 64-56 overtime win over Byers in the 1A quarterfinals.
Arvesta Troupe, Itawamba: Troupe scored a game-high 15 points to help lift Itawamba to a 48-25 win over Shannon in the 4A quarterfinals.
