It's the eighth state championship for Choctaw Central (29-4)
JACKSON, Miss. - Malaka Morris, making her first career start, scored 20 points to lead Choctaw Central to a 56-49 victory over Tishomingo County in the MHSAA Class 4A girls basketball state championship on Thursday at the Mississippi Coliseum.
It's the eighth state championship for Choctaw Central (29-4), but their first at the 4A level.
The Lady Warriors led 31-24 at halftime and extended their lead to 46-33 in the fourth quarter.
Clara Garland led Tishomingo County (31-4) 11 points and 10 rebounds.
