Aneyas Williams highlights: Notre Dame commit runs for 256 yards, 4 touchdowns in playoff win
WENTZVILLE, MISSOURI – Aneyas Williams added to his resume as one of the top football players in Missouri high school history on Friday night.
The Hannibal senior, who committed to Notre Dame last December over offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and USC among others, ran for 256 yards and four touchdowns and had 289 total yards in the Pirates' 48-27 Class 4 District 4 semifinal victory at Holt.
The 5-foot-10, 195-pounder has racked up so many numbers during his record-setting four-year high school career that it is difficult to keep track of them all.
With his performance on Friday, Williams now has 3,731 rushing yards, 3,177 receiving yards and has scored 137 total touchdowns over his four seasons.
Unofficially, Williams ranks third all-time in Missouri high school football history in touchdowns – trailing only Penney's Kellen Overstreet (168 TDs in 56 games from 2011-14) and Fair Grove's Caleb Schaffitzel (141 TDs in 47 games from 2006-09) – with a chance to move into second place in his next game.
He's also likely in the top 10 in Missouri high school football history in all-purpose yards (combining rushing, receiving and return yardage).
Williams' 3,177 receiving yards unofficially rank 12th all-time in Missouri high school football history – a remarkable feat for a player who has primarily played running back for four years.
Williams and the Pirates (10-1) will host Warrenton (11-0) in the Class 4 District 4 championship game, with the winner advancing to face Lutheran North (9-1) or Clayton/Brentwood co-op (7-4) in the state quarterfinals.
