Congratulations to Billings West girls track and field star Jayden Wolff for being voted SBLive’s Montana High School Athlete of the Week for April 25-May 1!

The senior ran a personal record and state best this spring of 12.06 seconds to win the 100 meters at the Gary Benson meet.

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for April 25-May 1:

Cruz Allies, Senior boys tennis: Had a big week on the tennis court, winning twice at No. 1 singles. Beat Coulter Thorn of Belgrade, 6-2, 6-2, and outlasted Braeden Butler of Gallatin, 6-4, 4-6, 15-13.

Porter Gibbs, Big Sky boys track and field: At the Russ Picher Top 10, won the high jump in a season state-best leap of six feet, seven inches.

Treyton Anderson, Beaverhead County boys track and field: Had big performances at two different events, running personal records and state-best times this spring in the 200 meters (22.04) at the John Tomich Invite and 14.36 to win the 110 hurdles in 14.36 at the Russ Pilcher Top 10.

Alex Brisko, Capital boys track and field: Won pole vault at the Skor Dekam in a personal record and state best this spring of 15 feet to take the state best away from Plentywood’s Cameron Brusven.

Cameron Brusven, Plentywood boys track and field: Threw the javelin 197 feet, 6 inches, to take over the state overall lead in the event at the Glendive Elk’s Invitational.

Walker McDonald, Seeley-Swan boys track and field: His mark of 55 feet, ¼ inch in the shotput at the Fairfield Belt State Preview gave him the state lead in the event this spring.

Havyn Vandenacre, Broadwater girls track and field: Ran a state-best 45.35 in the 300 hurdles to win at the Russ Pilcher Top 10.

Lileigh Nieto, Billings West softball: Hit the walkoff two-run home run to beat Sentinel, 12-10, in the inaugural East-West Tournament, the last of her four RBI in the game. She also had an RBI in the Bears 9-2 win over Capital that ended Capital’s nine-game win streak.

Marleigh Nieto, Billings West softball: Hit a home run to help beat Capital, then had three RBI in the later victory over Sentinel.

Brooke Best, Hellgate girls tennis: The sophomore continued to win tennis matches, beating Rusell senior Ruby Jennings who finished fifth in the state a year ago, 6-2, 6-2, a week after winning the Kalispell Invite.

Nyeala Herndon, Capital softball: At the East-West tourney, threw a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts to beat Senior, 2-0, to end Senior’s 13-game win streak.
