Paradise Honors (Arizona) quarterback Gage Baker throws 9 touchdowns in one half
Most quarterbacks would be happy throwing 10 touchdowns over a three-game span.
Gage Baker is different.
The senior at Paradise Honors (Arizona) threw 10 touchdowns Friday night in a dominant 69-15 win over Show Low. Better yet, nine of Baker’s touchdowns came in the first half while he went a perfect 16-for-16 through the air.
Baker finished the game 20-for-25 with 538 passing yards and 10 touchdowns.
As impressive as his 10 touchdown outing was this week, Baker is used to putting up big numbers.
He was just nominated for SBLive’s National Athlete of the Week after passing for 516 yards and eight touchdowns in a win over El Mirage Dysart last week, and he threw seven touchdowns the previous week.
Last year as a junior, Baker finished with 3,837 passing yards and 54 touchdowns.
The unranked, uncommitted senior is one of the nation’s leading passers this season. Through five games, Baker has passed for more than 2,100 yards and 32 touchdowns.
At his current pace, Baker would finish the regular season with over 4,200 passing yards and 64 touchdowns.
