The national top-ranked Monarchs (7-0) visit No. 7 St. John Bosco (6-1) in a mammoth Trinity League matchup 7 p.m. Friday.
The longtime rivals have played 41 times since 1966 with Mater Dei winning 29 after the perennial national powers split last season. The Braves won the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship game, 24-22 in December about six weeks after the Monarchs won the regular-season matchup, 17-7.
