Marcelles Williams of St. John Bosco follows brothers' path to USC, stardom

St. John Bosco senior cornerback Marcelles Williams is a natural for the big stage.
He followed his brothers Max and Macen to play arguably the most challenging position on a football field — cornerback.
Both have made it to the Division I college ranks, Max at USC and Macen to Arizona State.
"I always strived to be great, just like them," Marcelles told SBLive Sports reporter Mykena Guerrero last week (see full interview at top of page).
In June, the fearless 5-foot-11, 185-pound senior for the Braves, ranked the No. 7 cornerback in the land and No. 53 recruit overall from the Class of 2024, picked USC as his college choice.

"My brother's a part of (the USC family) and growing up I was always a USC fan," Marcelles said. "My dad always rooted for USC. Watching the games I always loved it."
He'll get a taste what it will be like playing in a college game Friday, when the Braves (6-1), the nation's No. 7 team, hosts No. 1 Mater Dei (7-0) in always the biggest regular season game of the year in California.
More than 70 players with Division I offers will be on the sidelines for this one, which should decide the Trinity League title and have big state and national ranking implications.
Having competed with talented older brothers his entire life, Marcelles is built for the moment.
"Mater Dei vs. St. John Bosco — this is the type of game why you come here for," Marcelles said. "If you want to be great and go against the best competition out there, I can't wait to go out there and show everybody who I am."
