20 best wide receivers in the nation during the 2023 high school football regular season

These 20 pass-catchers have put up big stats this fall

From five-star talents to underrated up-and-comers, athletes across the country have blossomed over the course of the 2023 high school football regular season.

With the playoffs fast approaching in several states, SBLive Sports set out to find the best offensive and defensive players in the nation this fall. We began with quarterbacks and running backs and are now moving on to another glamor position: wide receiver. 

Here are 20 receivers who have terrorized defenses during the 2023 football regular season.

Jayvan Boggs, jr., Cocoa (Florida)

Boggs, a four-star junior, recently gave a verbal commitment to Ohio State. He has been electric this fall for Cocoa, catching 48 passes for 779 yards and 14 touchdowns. 

Ny Carr, sr., Colquitt County (Georgia)

Carr has amassed 2,654 receiving yards and 35 touchdowns during his Colquitt County career, including 720 yards and 12 TDs as a senior. A four-star recruit, Carr committed to Miami in early October. 

Malachi Durant, sr., Graham-Kapowsin (Washington)

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Durant is a do-it-all weapon who excels as a receiver and kick returner. The Oregon State commit has scored 10 total touchdowns this season for Class 4A title hopeful Graham-Kapowsin. 

Aaron Enterline, sr., Manheim Central (Pennsylvania)

Enterline caught 42 passes for 994 yards and 12 touchdowns last fall, and the big-play threat is blowing away those numbers as a senior. In seven games, Enterline has 42 receptions for 900 yards and 16 TDs. 

Tristian Gentry, jr., Stephenville (Texas)

Gentry is averaging 22.3 yards per reception as a junior, catching 39 balls for 870 yards and nine touchdowns. The Texas Tech commit is closing in on 2,000 career receiving yards. 

Carson Grove, sr., Hersey (Illinois)

A dynamic senior, Grove has caught 44 passes for 973 yards and nine touchdowns this fall. The Northwestern commit has also scored twice on the ground. 

Audric Harris, sr., Bishop Gorman (Nevada)

Harris has been a breakout performer for Bishop Gorman as a senior. The Arizona commit has 727 yards receiving and nine touchdowns for the new No. 1 team in the country

Tate Kjar, sr., Corner Canyon (Utah)

The top target of Utah-bound quarterback Isaac Wilson, Kjar is an electric speed receiver at 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds. The Utah State commit has 76 catches for 1,290 yards and 12 touchdowns this fall. He found the end zone 19 times as a junior. 

Titan Lacaden, jr., St. Louis (Hawaii)

Lacaden is leading Hawaii’s open division with 63 catches for 853 yards and nine touchdowns. The junior standout is committed to Hawaii. 

Cameran Loyd, sr., Walton (Georgia)

A classic slot receiver at 5-foot-8 and 165 pounds, Loyd is also capable of playing outside in Walton’s offense. He has 18 career receiving touchdowns, including seven this season while averaging 113 yards per game through the air. 

Dakorien Moore, jr., Duncanville (Texas)

A five-star LSU commit, Moore is the complete package at receiver for Class 6A power Duncanville. The junior is averaging a staggering 31.9 yards per reception this season and has seven touchdowns in four games. 

Jay’len Mosley, jr., Jackson Christian (Tennessee)

Mosley is getting it done on both sides of the ball for Jackson Christian. The 247Sports composite four-star junior has 57 receptions for 1,137 yards and 16 touchdowns while also running for a TD and intercepting two passes on defense, including a pick-six. 

Quincy Porter, jr., Bergen Catholic (New Jersey)

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Porter has 11 receiving touchdowns this fall while averaging nearly 21 yards per reception. One of the top pass-catching talents on the East Coast, Porter’s offers include Alabama, Florida State and Georgia. 

Shane Rosenthal, jr., Newbury Park (California)

Rosenthal hauled in 15 touchdowns a season ago and is already up to 64 catches for 1,054 yards and 13 scores as a junior. Rosenthal’s lone Division I offer is from UNLV, but more are sure to come for the productive junior

Jaydon Smith, sr., Ingleside (Texas)

Smith has scored touchdowns on half his receptions this season, catching 40 passes for 980 yards and 20 TDs. Also a standout defensive back and kick returner for Ingleside, Smith is committed to North Texas. 

Jeremiah Smith, sr., Chaminade-Madonna (Florida)

The most dangerous player on one of the best teams in the country, Smith — the No. 1 overall national senior in the 247Sports composite rankings — has 52 receptions for 781 yards and 11 touchdowns during his senior season. Smith will play college football for Ohio State. 

Keelan Smith, sr., Liberty North (Missouri)

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Smith is capable of playing wide receiver and tight end in Liberty North’s offense. The Nebraska commit has 23 career receiving touchdowns, including nine this fall. 

Elijah Thomas, jr., Checotah (Oklahoma)

A four-star Oklahoma commit, Thomas has 41 catches for 803 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior. He has also scored twice on the ground while adding four return TDs (two kickoffs, one punt, one interception). 

NiTareon Tuggle, sr., NorthWood (Indiana)

Nicknamed “Nitro,” Tuggle has plenty of juice in the open field. The four-star Georgia commit has 51 receptions for 711 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. 

Ryan Williams, jr., Saraland (Alabama)

The nation’s No. 1 junior wide receiver prospect, Williams was the first sophomore to win Alabama Mr. Football in the award’s 41-year history. The Alabama commit scored 39 total touchdowns last season and is sitting on 13 as a junior.
