Best high school girls basketball combo guards in the nation entering the 2023-24 season
Although the fall season wages on throughout most of the country, winter's high school girls basketball season is already underway in multiple states.
SBLive Sports is highlighting some of the best players in the nation as we begin the winter season.
Over the next week and a half, we’ll be taking a position-by-position look at some of the best of the best in high school girls basketball. We started with the top point guards, and now we shift to combo guards.
Here are 20 of the best multi-purpose guards in the nation entering the 2023-24 high school girls basketball season.
Tajianna Avant-Roberts, sr., IMG Academy (Florida)
Playing for California’s La Jolla Country Day as a junior, Avant-Roberts put up 14 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. The five-star Louisville commit transferred to IMG Academy during the offseason.
Imari Berry, sr., Clarksville (Tennessee)
Berry set the Clarksville single-season school record for points as a junior with 836. The five-star Clemson commit averaged 26.1 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four steals for a Wildcats team that finished 27-5 overall.
Alexis Bordas, jr., Wheeling Park (West Virginia)
Bordas eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark during her sophomore season for Wheeling Park, averaging 20.2 points, 1.9 assists, 3.9 steals and 4.9 rebounds last winter. She was voted West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year.
Kaniya Boyd, sr., Centennial (Nevada)
Boyd put up 12.2 points, 4.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 steals last year as Centennial captured the program’s eighth consecutive state title. She will play college basketball for Tennessee.
Saniya Burks, sr., Rice (Texas)
Burks led the state of Texas in scoring as a junior at 33.3 points per game. The senior is staying in-state for college to play for Texas State.
Avary Cain, sr., St. Joseph (California)
Cain is a career 38 percent 3-point shooter who averaged 21.1 points, seven rebounds, 2.8 assists and 3.5 steals a season ago. The five-star recruit committed to UCLA in May.
Aaliyah Crump, jr., Minnetonka (Minnesota)
Crump put up 22 points per game as a sophomore for Minnetonka. She is a five-star prospect for the class of 2025.
Indya Davis, sr., West Bloomfield (Michigan)
Davis averaged 15.6 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.3 steals last year to win Michigan Gatorade Player of the Year honors. The do-everything guard plays next to her sister, Summer Davis, in West Bloomfield’s backcourt. Both Davises are committed to Georgia.
Katie Fiso, sr., Garfield (Washington)
Fiso led Garfield to the program’s third consecutive Class 3A state championship last season, putting up 22 points, six rebounds and two assists. She committed to Oregon over the summer.
Maddie Fitzpatrick, sr., Cheverus (Maine)
Fitzpatrick tallied 17.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.4 steals as a junior en route to Maine Gatorade Player of the Year honors. The versatile guard is committed to Maine.
Saniyah Hall, so., Laurel (Ohio)
A five-star sophomore, Hall is a two-way standout for Laurel. She put up 20.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.2 steals, 2.6 assists and 1.6 blocks during her freshman season.
Bella Hines, jr., Eldorado (New Mexico)
Hines averaged 22.8 points as a freshman and was even better last winter, tallying 30 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.3 assists. She is one of the most coveted prospects in New Mexico history with offers from Alabama, Iowa and LSU, among others.
Jordan Lee, sr., St. Mary’s (California)
Lee did it all for St. Mary’s as a junior, averaging 20.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.9 steals. A five-star prospect, Lee is committed to Texas.
Kiyomi McMiller, sr., Life Center Academy (New Jersey)
McMiller, a five-star prospect, is capable of playing either guard position for Life Center Academy. She had a monster junior season, averaging 29.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.3 steals.
Jerzy Robinson, so., Sierra Canyon (California)
Robinson starred for Arizona’s Desert Vista as a freshman, putting up 22 points and 8.2 rebounds for a team that captured the Open Division state championship. The five-star sophomore transferred to Sierra Canyon during the offseason.
Emilee Skinner, jr., Ridgeline (Utah)
A five-star junior, Skinner can play on and off the ball for Ridgeline. She averaged 21.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.8 steals as a sophomore.
Aili Tanke, sr., Johnston (Iowa)
During her junior season at Johnston, Tanke tallied 15.5 points and 9.3 rebounds for a team that reached the state tournament finals. The knockdown 3-point shooter will play college basketball for Iowa State.
Zya Vann, sr., Bethany (Oklahoma)
Vann, an Oklahoma commit, averaged 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 5.3 steals last winter. She helped carry Bethany to the Class 4A state title.
Corri Vermilya, sr., Loudonville (Ohio)
The reigning Ohio Division III player of the year, Vermilya lit up opposing defenses for 28.9 points per game as a junior. She did much more than just score, averaging 12.8 rebounds, six steals, 2.3 assists and 1.5 blocks.
Ava Watson, sr., Buford (Georgia)
Watson did everything for Buford as a junior, putting up 24 points, six rebounds, 5.2 assists and 4.3 steals. The Ohio State commit is a deadly 3-point shooter.
