These 20 athletes were sensational on the pitch this fall

The 2023 fall high school girls soccer season season is officially in the books.

To put a bow on an exciting few months of action, SBLive Sports is highlighting some of the top players from the best teams across the country.

Here are 20 girls soccer players who turned in spectacular performances during the 2023 fall high school season. 

Cloe Chase, sr., Marist Catholic (Oregon)

Chase did everything for Marist Catholic this fall, recording 52 goals and 19 assists. She is staying home for college to play for Oregon. 

Lana Djuranovic, sr., Scarborough (Maine)

Nicknamed “Lana Legend,” Djuranovic is one of the best girls soccer players to come out of Maine. The Miami signee netted a single-season program-record 32 goals as a senior with five assists as Scarborough won the Class A title. 

Izzy Engle, sr., Edina (Minnesota)

Engle, a Notre Dame signee, scored 41 goals as a senior, including both of the team’s goals in a 2-1 Class 3A state championship game victory over Wayzata. Edina finished the year 22-0 overall. 

Sabba Haghgoo, sr., McDonogh (Maryland)

Haghgoo scored twice in McDonogh’s A Conference title game victory over Archbishop Spalding. She spent time in the midfield and at forward for the Eagles. 

Addison Halpern, jr., Rutgers Prep (New Jersey)

A Virginia commit, Halpern recorded 40 goals and seven assists as a junior for Non-Public B champion Rutgers Prep. The forward has 136 goals and 54 assists in three seasons of high school soccer. 

Kayla Keefer, sr., Central Columbia (Pennsylvania)

Keefer couldn’t be stopped as the leader of Central Columbia’s attack, tallying 55 goals and 36 assists for the Class 2A state champions. The Ole Miss signee scored 140 goals in three seasons of varsity action. 

Kaitlyn LeBrun, sr., Natick (Massachusetts)

LeBrun was the leader of a Natick defense that surrendered nine goals in 23 matches en route to the Division I championship. The Redhawks finished 21-1-1 overall. 

Leah Morrier, sr., Timberlane (New Hampshire)

Morrier tallied 28 goals and 13 assists, including the game-winner to teammate Rylee Donahue in the Division I championship match. It was the first state title in Timberlane history. Morrier will play for Massachusetts-Lowell at the next level. 

Hannah Pachan, jr., Walsh Jesuit (Ohio)

Pachan netted all four of her team’s goals in the semifinals and finals as Walsh Jesuit captured its 11th state title. The junior is committed to Virginia Tech. 

Alexa Pino, jr., St. Joseph (Connecticut)

Pino topped the 70-goal mark for her career this fall as St. Joseph secured another state title. The talented forward is committed to South Carolina. 

Ashley Roni, sr., Skyline (Washington)

Roni, an Alabama signee, led Skyline to the Class 4A state title. The forward netted 29 goals during her senior season. 

Savanah Sanchez, sr., Hope Christian (New Mexico)

A goal-scoring machine, Sanchez finished her Hope Christian career with 170 goals. She tallied 46 as a senior to go along with 13 assists, leading the Huskies to a third consecutive Class 4A state championship.

Samantha Sellers, jr., Lone Peak (Utah)

Sellers netted a hat trick in the 6A final as Lone Peak won its first state title since 2018. The Utah State commit had 17 goals and 13 assists as a junior. 

Keegan Smith, sr., Haverling (New York)

Smith scored the lone goal in Haverling’s 1-0 Class B championship victory over Babylon. It was the first state title in program history. A multi-dimensional star, Smith signed with Arkansas as a keeper. 

Sammy Smith, sr., Boise (Idaho)

Smith helped lead Boise back to the Class 5A state tournament before leaving the team to join the U-19 Women’s National Team. The midfielder will play college soccer for Stanford. 

Abigail Stager, sr., North Allegheny (Pennsylvania) 

Stager closed her high school career with 63 goals, including 32 as a senior. The forward is headed to Kentucky for college. 

Meredith Tippner, jr., Noblesville (Indiana)

Tippner recorded 22 goals as Noblesville secured the Class 3A state title. A multi-sport star, Tippner also plays basketball for the Millers.

Hailey Wade, sr., Hamilton Southeastern (Indiana)

Wade allowed just seven goals all season for Hamilton Southeastern. The keeper is staying in-state for college to play at Valparaiso. 

Bella Winn, sr., Ridgewood (New Jersey)

Winn tallied 20 goals and seven assists for Ridgewood, a Group 4 finalist. The midfielder will play college soccer in the Big Ten for UCLA. 

Elizabeth Zimmerman, sr., Cincinnati Country Day (Ohio)

Zimmerman shined as a senior, putting up 32 goals and 32 assists for a Cincinnati Country Day team that won the Division III title. The senior is a three-sport athlete who also competes in basketball and lacrosse.
