Each week during the 2023-24 high school girls basketball season, SBLive Sports will gather the best performances across the country with the help of fans, readers and staff.

Now, it’s your turn to choose a standout among the pack, the best of the best.

Here are the nominees for SBLive’s National High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 1-7. Voting closes on Monday, Jan. 15, at 11:59 (Pacific Time).

SBLive National High School Girls Basketball Player of the Week candidates

Libbie Baker, jr., Hilltop (Ohio)

Baker erupted for 44 points — a new Hilltop single-game school record — in a 66-8 win over North Central. The junior eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark during the game.

Kendall Braden, sr., Toledo Christian (Ohio)

Braden became Toledo Christian’s all-time leading scorer with a 38-point outburst in a 72-46 victory over Archbold. The Toledo signee was sitting on 1,500 career points after the win.

Saniya Burks, sr., Rice (Texas)

Burks put up 47 points in a 62-35 victory over Palmer. The Texas State signee also had 12 steals, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Taylee Chirrick, sr., Roberts (Montana)

Chirrick, a Montana State signee, had 37 points in a 76-30 rout of Custer-Hysham.

Payton Collins, jr., Mt. Lebanon (Pennsylvania)

Collins canned seven 3-pointers en route to 29 points as Mt. Lebanon edged Baldwin, 47-44.

Jenessa Cotton, sr., Mater Dei (California)

Cotton dominated with 32 points and 19 rebounds in a 66-57 win over Orange Lutheran.

C’India Dennis, fr., Creekside (Georgia)

Dennis had 40 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks as Creekside cruised by Tri-Cities, 80-42.

Sophia Eastman, so., Sammamish (Washington)

Eastman had 30 points and six steals in a 47-24 win over Lindbergh.

Micah Evora, sr., Florida State University School (Florida)

Evora tallied 36 points, seven rebounds and two steals in a 69-56 victory over Madison County.

Gracyn Gilliard, so., Munster (Indiana)

Gilliard poured in 30 points as Munster took down Washington Township, 62-49.

Myah Hazelton, sr., Sparrows Point (Maryland)

Hazelton scored 22 of her 30 points in the first half of Sparrows Point’s 56-31 victory over Perry Hall.

Grace Kingery, sr., North Ridgeville (Ohio)

Kingery netted a school-record 45 points in an 80-51 win over Elyria. She did all of her damage in the first three quarters.

Oaklee Lofton, jr., Legacy Academy (Arkansas)

Lofton had 40 points and 13 rebounds as Legacy Academy held off New Life Christian Academy, 65-57.

Jasmine Mckay, jr., North Babylon (New York)

Mckay drained 10 3-pointers in a 40-point explosion as North Babylon cruised by Bay Shore, 69-43.

Lauren Miller, sr., Trinity (Illinois)

Miller netted 38 points in a 70-54 win over Mundelein.

Fuifuilupe Niumeitolu, sr., Alta (Utah)

Niumeitolu racked up 31 points in a 74-40 rout of East.

Tori Oehrlein, so., Crosby-Ironton (Minnesota)

Oehrlein had 48 points and 15 rebounds in a 96-34 victory over Pillager.

Emma Paul, sr., Armstrong (Pennsylvania)

Paul scored a school-record 45 points in a 78-70 win over Mars. The senior knocked down 10 3-pointers during her big night.

Cece Powell, so., Marcellus (New York)

Powell erupted for 41 points as Marcellus took down Onondaga in overtime, 54-53. The sophomore scored all nine of her team’s points in overtime.

Devyn Quigley, sr., Manchester Township (New Jersey)

Quigley, a four-star N.C. State signee, did everything she could in a 70-66 loss to Wall Township, finishing with 42 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Kaleena Smith, fr., Ontario Christian (California)

Smith poured in 36 points as Ontario Christian blew by Village Christian, 91-50.

Payton Starwalt, fr., Crescent Valley (Oregon)

Starwalt had 34 points, five steals and four assists in a 74-22 win over Dallas. The freshman guard went 14 of 21 from the floor and 6 of 9 from long distance.
