SBLive Oklahoma's Top 25 high school football rankings: Shakeup in Top 10 brings in teams still in title hunt

By Buck Ringgold
There were quite a few surprises in the opening rounds of the Oklahoma high school football playoffs last week.
In fact, four of last week's SBLive Oklahoma Top 10 saw their seasons come to a sudden end. Those schools have dropped out of the Top 10 as a result, with teams still in postseason play taking over.
Entering the second week of postseason play, here are SBLive Oklahoma's Top 25 high school football teams.
1. Bixby (11-0)
Bixby can punch its ticket to the Class 6AII title game and tie the state 11-man record for consecutive wins with 48 when the Spartans face Stillwater in the 6AII semifinals Friday at Langston University.
2. Jenks (10-1)
The Trojans are two wins away from successfully defending their 6AI championship. Jenks will take on Mustang in Friday's 6AI semifinal at Putnam City.
3. Tulsa Union (10-1)
In their first game since being renamed the Redhawks, Union defeated Yukon to start the 6AI playoffs. The Redhawks now take on nearby rival Broken Arrow with a trip to Edmond at stake.
4. Tuttle (11-0)
The Tigers have a huge challenge in Friday's 4A semifinals, taking on a red-hot Wagoner squad, which also happens to be the defending 4A champions.
5. McAlester (11-0)
Coming off a first-round win against Sapulpa, the Buffaloes are at home for Friday's 5A quarterfinals against a very good Guthrie squad.
6. Lincoln Christian (11-0)
The Bulldogs are at home Friday for a 3A semifinal against Sulphur, which beat Anadarko in its opening-round playoff.
7. Stillwater (9-2)
Stillwater gets its shot at payback against Bixby in the 6AII semifinals. The Spartans beat the Pioneers, 42-14, on Sept. 17.
8. Collinsville (11-0)
The undefeated Cardinals are at home for Friday's 5A quarterfinal with Bishop McGuinness, which had an impressive win at Ardmore in its playoff opener.
9. Broken Arrow (8-3)
The Tigers got one dose of revenge by beating Owasso in last week's 6AI playoff opener. Now, Broken Arrow takes aim at Union, which beat the Tigers, 38-28, on Sept. 3.
10. Heritage Hall (11-0)
After taking care of business against Pauls Valley in their 3A playoff opener, the undefeated Chargers are at home again Friday for their 3A quarterfinal with Berryhill, which beat Stigler in its opening-round game.
11. Holland Hall (10-1)
The Dutch return to action with a home 3A quarterfinal Friday against Perkins-Tryon, which led in the second half against Heritage Hall in the regular season before the Chargers rallied to win.
12. Choctaw (8-3)
There will not be a return trip to the 6AII championship game for the Yellowjackets, who were defeated on their home field by Edmond Deer Creek in the first round of the playoffs.
13. Tulsa Booker T. Washington (8-3)
It was a tough final two weeks for the Hornets, who lost to Bixby in the regular-season finale and then fell to Stillwater in the 6AII opening round, ending their season.
14. Owasso (8-3)
A season expected to end with a trip to Edmond to play for a gold ball instead ended in Broken Arrow last week, as the Tigers rallied from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to stun the Rams.
15. Del City (9-2)
Though the Eagles were one-and-done in the 6AII playoffs, falling at home in the first round to Sand Springs, it was still a successful turnaround season after winning just four games the year before.
16. Coweta (10-1)
Coweta defeated Tahlequah in its opening-round 5A playoff, and the Tigers now head to Midwest City to face perennial 5A contender Carl Albert in the quarterfinals.
17. Washington (11-0)
The Warriors, who beat Comanche to start the 2A playoffs, will have a second-round rematch Friday with Jones, which lost to Washington in last season's playoffs on a late touchdown pass.
18. Edmond Deer Creek (9-2)
With their opening-round 6AII playoff win last week at Choctaw, the Antlers move on to the 6AII semifinals against Sand Springs, taking place Friday at Yukon.
19. Lawton MacArthur (10-1)
The Highlanders needed a late touchdown to get past Piedmont in their 5A playoff opener. Lawton Mac will be at home for Friday's 5A quarterfinal against Pryor, which beat Bishop Kelley in its postseason opener.
20. Sand Springs (8-3)
Sand Springs' three losses, all in a row, were to Bixby, Choctaw and Booker T. Washington. The Sandites are now one win away from a trip to Edmond to play for the 6AII title.
21. Oklahoma Christian School (11-0)
After beating Prague to begin the 2A playoffs, the Saints are back at home Friday for a second-round game with Community Christian, coming off a win against Davis.
22. Poteau (10-1)
The Pirates will play at home for the final time on Friday, a 4A quarterfinal round game against Blanchard, coming off a 24-21 opening-round win at Bethany.
23. Mustang (7-4)
At the start of the season, few people thought the Broncos would be in this position, playing in the 6AI semifinals. A win against Jenks could convince even more people that Mustang is definitely for real.
24. Verdigris (10-1)
The Cardinals posted a road win at Seminole in a matchup between 9-1 teams in the first round of the 3A playoffs. Verdigris is back on the road for the 3A quarterfinals on Friday, taking on Plainview, which beat Kingfisher to begin its postseason.
25. Midwest City Carl Albert (9-2)
In a loaded 5A bracket, don't count out the Titans. After all, they have won five consecutive state championships and have currently won 21 straight postseason games.
