The Montverde Academy Eagles are back at the top spot in this week’s SBLive Florida Top 15 girls’ basketball rankings.

Senior Janiah Barker is leading the team averaging 17.4 points and eight rebounds per game.

2. Lake Highland Prep (7-1)

Last Week: Lost to DME Academy 49-48, Defeated Haines City 60-30, Defeated Oak Ridge 72-49

This Week: at Dr. Phillips (Mon.)

Following last week’s lost to DME Academy, the Lady Highlanders have racked up two straight wins.

3. Wekiva (8-0)

Last Week: Defeated Windermere 63-33, Defeated Horizon 61-16, Defeated Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate 47-38

This Week: vs Oak Ridge (Tues.), at Colonial (Thu.), vs San Jose Prep (Sat.)

The Wekiva Lady Mustangs rise 11 spots from #14 to #3, in this week’s SBLive Florida Top 15 girls’ basketball rankings. 

Sophomore guards Jada Eads and O’Maria Gordon have led the way for the Mustangs this season.

4. Western (Davie) (6-1)

The Western Wildcats make their debut in the SBLive Florida Top 15 girls basketball rankings, checking in at #4.

Senior forward Taja Stephens is leading the team averaging 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals per game.

Following their only loss to American Heritage Plantation, the Lady Grenadiers have won three straight games.

The Carrollwood Day Lady Patriots make their season debut, holding the #7 spot in the SBLive Florida Top 15 girls’ basketball rankings. Following an early season loss to Plant, the Lady Patriots have won five straight games.

This Week: at Dunbar (Fort Myers) (Wed.), vs Carrollwood Day (Fri.), vs Brooks-DeBartolo (Sat.)

Over the last three games, the Gulf Coast Lady Sharks are allowing an average of 20.3 points per game. Junior forward Madelyn Leslie and senior guard Katie Ambrose have been leading the Lady Sharks in points, rebounds and assists this season.

9. Winter Springs (6-1)

The Lady Bears return to action tomorrow night, as they host Olympia High School.

Making their debut in the SBLive Florida Top 15 girls’ basketball rankings, the Nease Lady Panthers sit at #10. Senior guard Sydney Gomes has led the way averaging 21.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.5 steals per game. The Lady Panthers return to action tomorrow night at St. Augustine.

This Week: vs FAMU DRS (Tallahassee) (Mon.), vs Rickards (Tues.), vs Lincoln (Thu.)

The Lady Seminoles responded from their lone loss of the season, with a 78-54 win over Leon in their last game. 

Seniors Tonie Morgan and Audia Young are averaging 17 points per game so far this season for the Seminoles.
