The winter 2021-2022 California high school boys basketball season is one month old in the San Diego Section. Here’s a look at the top teams in the section after the first few weeks of play. SBLive’s San Diego Section high school boys basketball rankings are compiled by SBLive California reporter Bodie DeSilva and will be released every Monday throughout the winter 2021-22 season.

1. St. Augustine (6-1)

Jurian Dixon St. Augustine

The Saints beat La Costa Canyon by 28 in their only game last week. They'll play Carlsbad on Friday before heading to the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas.

2. San Marcos (4-1)

Devon Arlington San Marcos

The Knights didn't play last week as they prepare to host No. 3 Torrey Pines in a non-league showdown this week.

3. Torrey Pines (7-0)

Logan Huston Torrey Pines

The Falcons finished off the West Hills Tournament with a 56-44 win over Cathedral Catholic.

4. Mission Bay (5-2)

Angelo Gil Mission Bay

The Buccaneers have been off since November 27th and won't play again until they host Bonita Vista on December 15th.

5. Cathedral Catholic (5-1)

Jaden Lebel Cathedral Catholic

The Dons lost their first game of the season, falling to No. 3 Torrey Pines on Saturday. They'll head to play in the Father Barry Tournament in Sacramento later this week.

6. San Ysidro (2-3)

The Cougars beat Calexico and Hoover last week. They'll begin play in the Tiger Classic at Imperial High School later this week.

7. Mission Hills (5-2)

Mission Hills

The Grizzlies followed up losses to St. Augustine and Cathedral Catholic with a win over Escondido. They'll host No. 10 La Costa Canyon in a big matchup on Tuesday.

8. MaterDei Catholic (4-2)

Dominic Nankil Mater Dei Catholic

Mater Dei Catholic beat Grossmont and Bishop's after losing to Torrey Pines. They're off until December 17th.

9. La Jolla Country Day (5-2)

Jake Altman La Jolla Country Day

The Torreys have won five straight games after dropping their first two games of the season.

10. La Costa Canyon (1-2)

Vincent Berlucchi La Costa Canyon

La Costa Canyon will play No. 7 Mission Hills and San Clemente this week.
