UIL Realignment: Here are the 2022-23 Class 5A Texas high school football districts

Updated Class 5A Division I and Division II districts for the 2022 and 2023 Texas high school football seasons after the latest UIL realignment cycle

The University Interscholastic League revealed updated districts for the next two school years Thursday morning amidst its biannual reclassification and realignment.

Every two years, the UIL matches more than a thousand Texas high schools into districts based on enrollment and location, shifting some schools into new districts while moving others into different classifications.

Here are the conference cutoff numbers for each classification of the current 2022-24 UIL realignment cycle, as well as the number of schools in all classification levels:

• Class 6A → 2,225 and above (249 schools)
• Class 5A → 1,300-2,224 (251) 5A Division I → 1,925 – 2,224 (132 schools)  5A Division II → 1,300 – 1,924 (119 schools)
• Class 4A → 545-1,299 (192) 4A Division I → 880 – 1,299 (99 schools) 4A Division II → 545 – 879 (93 schools)
• Class 3A → 250-544 (206) 3A Division I → 360 – 544 (104 schools) 3A Division II → 250 – 359 (102 schools)
• Class 2A → 105-249 (207) 2A Division I → 164.5 – 249 (105 schools) 2A Division II → 105 – 164.4 (102 schools)
• Class 1A → 104.9 and below (148) 1A/Six-Man Division I → 59.5 – 104.9 (75 schools) 1A/Six-Man Division II → 59.4 and below (73 schools)
