Congratulations to St. Mary’s girls basketball guard Yirsy Quelizfor being voted SBLive’s Massachusetts High School Athlete of the Week for Jan. 24-30!
The junior led the Lady Spartans with 21 points in a 65-27 win over Archbishop Williams to move to 15-2 on the season.
Queliz ran away with this week’s honor, receiving 84.22% of the total vote.

Danielle Bergeron, Marshfield Girls Basketball:
Finished with 22 points to lead Marshfield past Duxbury 71-55.
Katherine Vaughan, Bedford Girls Basketball:
The senior scored a double-double (15 points, 18 rebounds) in a 49-41 win over Concord-Carlisle- the program’s first win over Concord-Carlisle in four years.
Matvey Malinovski, Andover Boys Swimming:
Recorded individual wins in the 200 IM (2:01.86) and 100 freestyle (48.84) on senior day win over Chelmsford, 99-79.
Kate Olenik, Medfield Girls Basketball:
Scored 21 points and 9 steals in Medfield’s 58-28 win over Mills.
Spencer Merrick, Abington Boys Hockey:
The junior had a career night with 53 saves in a 1-6 loss to Norwell.
Zach Taglimonte, Oliver Ames Boys Basketball:
Led the Tigers with 28 points in a 65-42 win over North.
Abbey Kennedy, Hingham Girls Hockey:
Kennedy finished with a five-point night recording 2 goals and 3 assists in an 8-3 win over Marshfield.
Joey Dwyer, Pembroke Boys Basketball:
The junior dropped 28 points in three quarters in a 61-38 win against Hanover.
Amari Jamison, Whitman Hanson Boys Basketball:
The senior scored 17 points to lead Whitman Hanson past Silver Lake in a 63-57 win.
Orlaugh Gormley, North Quincy Girls Basketball:
The sophomore captain recorded 27 points (22 in the second half) and 9 rebounds in a 54-48 win over Scituate.
