Hansel Enmanuel, one-armed basketball sensation, receives DI scholarship offer from Memphis (photos)
Hansel Enmanuel, who has captivated the country with his electric play on the high school basketball hardwood this season, is now drawing the attention of big-time college basketball programs.
Enmanuel, a 6-foot-5 combo guard for Life Christian Academy (Florida), is considered one of the Top 50 class of 2022 combo guards in the country - and he's doing it with just one arm. Now Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway has recognized Enmanuel's talent with a scholarship offer.
Enmanuel announced the Memphis offer on Instagram Friday - to the delight of his 1.2 million followers.
Enmanuel, who was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, had his left arm amputated when he was six years old after a wall collapsed on it. He was rescued by his father after being trapped for nearly two hours.
Enmanuel had previously received college offers from Tennessee State and Bethune-Cookman.
