Nate Calmese, Senior, Mesquite - Pushing the Wildcats to a 96-85 victory over Peoria on Friday in the 4A quarterfinals, Calmese dropped 37 points, six rebounds, eight assists and a steal to help Mesquite advance to the semis.
Andrew Camacho, Junior, Peoria - One of the most slept-on prospects in the state for the 2023 class, Camacho brought a close to his junior season with a new career high of 44 points. He also had four rebounds, three assists and three steals in the 96-85 loss to Mesquite on Friday.
Dalton Graham, Junior, Sunrise Mountain -Crashing the boards on Wednesday, Graham’s 15 rebounds helped Sunrise Mountain edge Campo Verde in the first round of the 5A playoffs. Good for a double-double, Graham also had 12 points along with an assist, a steal, a block and a deflection.
Yarell Greer, Junior, Higley - Helping Higley defeat Casteel on Wednesday in the first round of the 5A playoffs, Greer posted 20 points while shooting 80-percent from the field. In addition, Greer had eight rebounds, two assists and four steals to help Higley walk away with a 72-60 victory.
Weston Haebig, Junior, Sabino - Exploding to 41 points on Wednesday in Sabino’s 75-62 victory over Eastmark, Haebig’s outstanding scoring, paired with his three rebounds, two assists and a steal, helped Sabino win its play-in game and advance to the 3A playoff bracket.
Isaiah Kai, Junior, Campo Verde - Bringing his junior year to a close on Wednesday, Kai put forth a strong effort despite Campo Verde’s tough 66-59 loss to Sunrise Mountain on the road in the first round of the 5A playoffs. Kai’s final game of his junior year wrapped up with 20 points on 69-percent shooting from the field, four rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block.
Zander Kamai, Junior, Paradise Honors - Shooting an outstanding 89-percent from the field on Tuesday in Paradise Honors’ 67-47 win over Coconino in the first round of the 4A playoffs, Kamai had 20 points, three assists, three deflections, a block and an assist to help the Panthers advance to the quarterfinals.
Brett Rosenblatt, Senior, Salpointe Catholic - Helping Salpointe Catholic keep its state championship aspirations alive, Rosenblatt had a solid performance in Friday’s 4A quarterfinal game against Cactus. Posting 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and five deflections, Rosenblatt was one of the many moving pieces helping the Lancers pick up a 65-57 win over Cactus.
Dylan Spilde, Junior, Boulder Creek -In Boulder Creek’s 70-55 victory over Highland in the first round of the 6A playoff bracket, Spilde led the Jaguars in scoring with a new career high of 23 points while shooting 71-percent from the field. Spilde also had four rebounds and two assists to wrap up the night and help Boulder Creek advance to the quarterfinals.
Uriah Tenette, Freshman, Prescott - Bringing his first varsity season to a close, Tenette went out on a high note Tuesday in Prescott’s 93-70 loss to Mesquite in Round One of the playoffs. Leading the team in scoring, Tenette posted 22 points alongside eight rebounds, four assists, a steal and a deflection.
